I work in a factory for Kerry Foods in Poole, Dorset and had my first evening shift. I used to work in the canteen but I now have a real job. Once you have worked in a factory you will know what real workmanship is all about!
Also if I work Sunday I get 9 an hour!
Get in!

haha i'll give you that wilky..
what's up with factory work anyway? It's the job i'm really searching for at the moment, no customer contact and you don't need to speak! Sounds perfect.

It's the most depressing work ever. That is unless you enjoy robot-like monotony.

I'm not sure whether i'd prefer it to speaking to twats all day though in a large chain of highstreet shops. I wouldn't be working full-time luckily though so it could be alright...

I worked in a factory for a good 2 months before I was laid off, it was only temporary work as it was.
Made $8 an hour during the weekdays, $11 on the weekends. Was boring, hot as hell (I had to bring a gallon of water to work everyday), and like any other job, there was ********. Not my type of job, but good money for the time.

9 pounds an hour is your penalty rate? Dear God. Regular factory work here would bring more than 10 pound/hour on a weekday. I was getting payed a lot for factory work, sure, but I was getting 50 an hour on sundays. Thats about 30 an hour for you lot. Working Monday to friday would bring $1.2k before tax.
And agree with hard2get, it was the most monotonous job I have ever worked, but if busy the time went very fast and the job was highly active and we had some freedoms which made it bearable.

yea no factory work for me. work in retail on commission i like it better. altho yea u gotta deal with BS customers, and coworkers as well, i like the idea of how much u get paid is determined by how much u sell.
past couple weeks been averaging about $17 an hr since we've been understaffed and the fulltimers call in a lot and i fill in hrs. the job definitely teaches u patience which is a good thing, unless it just causes you to have less patience with everyone else lol!
