you could have 2 rounds of voting

run the comp as normal, public voting etc......

an added extra could be that luna c will also judge the tracks 'after' the winner is annonced & possibly release the tune 'he deems' to be the winner.

members are making the rules so why not?

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........

Run 2 remix comps side by side with the same remix pack, start & end the same day, up to the producer if he submits to both competitions...

Having two competitions seems ridiculous to me. It'll just dilute participation. I personally don't have time to finish all my unfinished projects AND participate in two competitions...

Why not just take Luna-C up on his offer and forget about "winning a release"? That way we could still have an (inherently flawed) voting system and perhaps a small panel of judges (Silver, Luna-C) could determine the final winner out of those voted top 3.

I think having a good track idea/vocal pack is far more important than the final prize. I probably won't participate if I'm uninspired by the vocals provided but I would still participate if there was no prize and I liked the vocals...

I still reckon it would be great to have Luna-c involved in some way, as it adds an extra incentive, in that if he likes any of the tracks he could have the choice of releasing them if he wishes. The idea of him choosing maybe ten or so tracks that he likes, to put forward for voting on here seems like a pretty fair one to me.
I understand what he is saying tho, and why he wouldn't want it to be an official Luna-c competition.
To be honest, i'll enter no matter what the voting system is or what the rules are :)
I just hope it gets underway, and we get some wicked remixes out of it if nothing else :)

So luna-c would pick a winner and the forum members would pick another? Not a bad idea I guess.

This could be a possibilty lads, just have to wait & hear word back from the man himself. He said he would make a remix pack available this friday. Let's just hope he checks back sooner & we can get this confirmed....

I have been checking back, but I don't know what to do, lol. Then I realized - I have still to record the vocals in for the tune I am thinking of. I am doing that tomorrow (wednesday) and the actual tune they are for is not finished yet. So perhaps lets leave that idea for right now - I mean, what if the tune and / or vocals come out crap? It does happen lol.

On the other hand, if its just a remix competition for the fun of it, I can post up the samples from KFA15 - Jimmy J & Cru-l-t "Take You Away". (This is not "Take Me Away", just to avoid confusing everyone lol).

Here is a link:-

http://www.kniteforcerevolution.com/music/kfa

Scroll down to KFA15 to listen to the clips.

This might be fun because the vocals are live, but they are old skool styled. So I think it would require some ingenuity to make a modern tune with them. On the other hand, they would lend themselves to pretty much any style, house, dubstep, modern hardcore, old skool, anything really!

I am fine with you guys voting, but I will choose one that I like as well. If its good enough, I may put it out. Which means the only rule I would need for this comp is that NOONE puts their version up online unless in poor quality, or in high quality, but only a clip.

If we can all agree to that, I will get the sample pack up in the next day or so! I will mention it to my mailing list, but other than that, leave it for people to join in or not as they find out. I can make a new post specifying details and linking the sample pack in the next day or two!

I'm more than happy to go ahead with remixing this track mate. Thats my kinda vocals. Much prefer that style to the more modern take on Hardcore vocals but like you say those vocals are so diverse & could be remixed into many different genres, exactly what we need with a comp like this. What does everyone else think?

"the only rule I would need for this comp is that NOONE puts their version up online unless in poor quality, or in high quality, but only a clip." <<< Totally agree & can assure you this is not a problem. If this is broken it would jeopardize the whole comp & because of this everyone involved is sure to play by the rules or all their work is for nothing.

I'm not sure how you wanna do this mate? Would you prefer start your own new thread making the remix pack available & setting a deadline or send to me to edit my original title & post? Either or is good to me. Let me know.

Sounds good to me. Liking those vocals, and it will be interesting to see what everyone comes up with.
