Can someone recommend me a good pair?
My Sennheiser CX-400 II's just broke, so I'm looking for a new pair.
I'm willing to pay around 70.

Go to woot.com in the next 3 hours, theyre selling a 2 pack of the Koss K29Rs for 7 bucks +5 shipping, they go for $25 or so in stores, and completely worth it. I've owned a few pairs that my mom keeps stealing and losing.

Only downside is that they're an ugly pinkish color, but it's whatever, at that price I'm willing to rock them. If you don't make it in time, look for anything by altec lansing, Sennheiser makes quality buds but they just don't last, I've killed two pairs in a year (include the ones you just lost).

Why would people go with in ear headphones? the quality is so much better with headphones

b/c they're able to fit in ur pocket and reduce the amount of sound that other ppl hear. plus headphones are easier to break than in-ear headphones. also, this is for personal use and not for dj use

They were excellent for the price. I'd recommend them. I said mine have broke they haven't broke yet, it's just there's a little bit rubber that has snapped off, it's no big deal, they still work perfectly, but without the rubber I'm assuming the earphone will break away from the cable easily.

Personally, I find that in-ear headphones give a much better sound quality. Although I don't buy expensive over the head headphones because I have no need for them. The most expensive pair I've bought was 30 (RRP: 50) which was the same price as the Sennheisers, and in terms of quality, the in-ear Sennheisers won easily.
I think it's just preference, some people prefer the sound that headphones give and others prefer the sound that earphones give.

for edm the klipsch s4's are ok. not sure if they in your price range.
To be honest, if you liked the senn's go them again. the cx400 are supposed to be a bit above the cx300, which aren't bad. Personally I wouldn't touch them but that is simply because I hate the J-cord, nothing else.

Skullcandy IEMs are garbage, the only thing they know how to make are over ears, but they make them so rigid I still don't even like them. I bought a pair of skullcandy earbuds last year, they blew out in less than a month.

Great company, good price, good quality, but they still seem to break fairly easily. I'd like to think I was fairly easy on my last two pairs of Sennheisers...

I use IEMs for DJing even, they attenuate the loud mix so I can focus on the cue if I so desire. If I want to hear the mix more, I just turn the dial to adjust my phones. Also, for personal use, a lot of people just don't like carrying bulky, expensive studio headphones everywhere when they don't even sound that much better. If you want mind blowing quality like some AKGs you're going to spend in the hundreds of dollars, whereas mind blowing quality from IEMs comes at under 100 garunteed.

Funnily enough I was just looking at the 'Klipsch S4'. They look very good.
I think I'm either going to get the Shure SE210 or the Klipsch S4 or the Shure SE102.
I'm still undecided though.
