Spybot is useless now that Malwarebytes can do everything it can and more. I stopped using it as soon as I got Malwarebytes Antimalware. I'm not aware of any free antivirus that is worth using indefinitely. I stopped using AVG and got ESET Nod32. It's cheaper now though so that's definitely worth the money.

As far as free ones go, lately ive used Comodo Internet security, seems to do the trick. But its easier to say "this is your security, everything else is a scam". Rather then installing several programs for everything.

I have a desktop HP and it's pretty damn good. i5 750 processor, 4 gigs of ram, TB HDD.. i wont go on because its a desktop and you want a laptop.
I've got a compaq laptop and while it was okay for the first year, there's been a significant decline in it's speed and overheating since then. probably because it was only about US$600 lol.
Btw i still use norton. These days with quad cores becoming more common, the average user wont notice it. ****, i produce music professionally and dont notice norton. People overexaggerate.

Norton is still one dodgy company. To uninstall it, you need to manually delete the files from programs folder and in some cases go to registry to delete their files. Otherwise it just keeps installing itself back without telling you. To me, thats exactly what the program should try to prevent, not do it itself :P

Eh... it's one step infront of apple products. I wouldnt be surprised if they implemented a similar idea lol.
Dodgy is a rough way to put it... especially considering as it does good for your PC, not bad. It might be a bit clingy but id rather that than an antivirus that felt like it had no control of my computer.
It's simple, it's automated, i never notice it running... why anyone would want to delete it is beyond me.

It comes pre-installed (3 month trial) and you use a different one.
A program that tries to takeover your control over your PC is Dodgy.
After uninstalling it the traditional route, suddenly after nowhere comes a Norton Scan. It cant be turned off (only option is scan), it should be uninstalled, you need to close it from task manager, and uninstall it the way i said. To me it seems like it works like spyware. And thats dodgy from a security company.
