Ive noticed this week they are changing the Daytime radio DJ's for the nighttime ones!
does this mean Kutski is getting a morning slot for 3 hours?
if so, thats a total win for Hard Dance!

scratch that - just read the schedule on the website - doesnt look as though he has a slot :/
for a second i thoght they were introducing some variety into their daytime shows
no such luck :/

no unfortunately not.. I'm sure it would have been all over Facebook by the main man himself if he was :(
he does get mini mixes on Anne macs show and Greg James show but they are.for just like one minute and to promote his show on a Saturday morning...

He was on today on the Hugh Stephens show, I knew they would have him somewhere in small doses! It really is worth listening to on BBC iPlayer, hardcore on daytime BBC1 lol! It also plugged Re-Con and Squad-E on his show tonight!

it irks me that hardcore doesnt get played in the daytime on weekdays
even if its some crappy UK hardcore, its better than nothing..
DnB is the same speed and just as "intrusive" to people who dont like DnB as to people who don't like hardcore - and albums like Clubland Xtreme hardcore hit top 10 positions beating Dubstep and Dnb Compliations..
i pay my licence fee, and it just seems rather retarded that after 20+ years of a music genre, it still doesnt get played on the radio. I've written in many times to the BBC bringing up these points.. whilst its good having a show at 12am on a friday when most people are out clubbing and wouldnt hear it anyway i still think for the sake of fairness and "i pay my freekin' 140 a year" they should be slipping one or two tracks in during the daytime

There is absolutely no way someone like Kutski would ever get day time airplay (unless he started playing pop). Also, Hardcore in the day time? Come on, Radio 1 have to answer to demand and pretty much no one wants to hear Hardcore or for the most part any other kind of Hard Dance or (or unhard for that matter) on the radio in the day time. Plus Radio 1 is as main stream as it gets and Hardcore is not.

i hear some of your points matt, but saying people dont want to hear "unhard dance" as well is definatly not the case, as we have plenty of regular Dance on the radio from Deadmouse, AVH, Roger Sanchez and alot of the other more commericial house artists, as well as your usual chase and status (or however you spell it).
getting a selection of other styles wouldnt hurt anyone.

Darren Styles has had both his own albums make the official top 40 charts, so it surely means a lot of people have bought them, whats the problem with one of his tracks making airplay on Radio 1 daytime? There are a few D&B commercial tracks played so why not the same with Hardcore?

Commercial House though really is not even close to being the same, it's still pop music really, just more up beat.

The thing is though, they allow kutski to play all forms of hardcore in his show on Saturday morning from old skool up to Gabba, and they do "promote it" on Friday evening every week, also like DjTriquatra said, D&B is just as fast bpm wise, and like you say, all ages listen to R1, especially younger people, who are aware of Hardcore like any other forms of dance music, it still doesn't explain why an artist like DS who has sold loads of albums, has loads of videos for his music, isn't allowed just once to have a track on daytime! And the DJ's themselves havn't a clue, they are fed a playlist!

And every other scene. Hardcore is just too silly for day time radio.

there just as many drugs in rock clubs, rnb clubs and normal chart crap clubs than there is hardcore...
hardcore still has a childish tag too it which is probably why lack of day time radio play... out of the 2hrs kutski gets hardcore gets what 15 maybe 20 mins?
there's more chance of hard dance/trance/style than hardcore on day time radio one
