Got to say this CD is amazing. Quite varied as well, lots of breakbeat and even some older skool d'n'b.
1) Comin Down - Quality fast breakbeat. Vocal over that organ breakdown is class.
2) Freedom - More modern trancy UK hardcore. Again vocal is top draw. That half speed breakdown is hands in the air stuff.
3) Now I'm Free - Piano breakbeat. You just don't get tunes like this any more.
4) Come Home - Enough has been said already on hh.com - massive.
5) Don't Tell Me - Starts off in the style of a '96 breakbeat tune into old skool stabs with lashings of 4/4 over the top. Vocal again is outstanding.
6) Realms and Rough Cuts - Freeformtastic.
7) Breakaway - The seems to be have been a couple of tracks is this style lately - hardcore dubstep. Best track of this genre I've heard. So different from what has gone before. Refreshing stuff.
8) Start Again - Didn't know he could sing. He can - another anthem. Electro elements after a uplifting trancey breakdown. Kinda reminds me of that '97 DJ vibes sound at with those synths at the breakdown.
9) Out Of Control - Sounds like a track CLSM might have done. Fresh breakbeat/d'n'b
10) Moment 2 Moment - the only track I'm unsure of. Too cheesy.
11) Love Obsession - You can tell its Cat Knight on the vocals a mile off - really top draw breakbeat and strings. Class. Slighty chilled at times.
12) Everlasting - 4/4 trancey track. Uplifting. Heard this kinda track a 1000 times but the quality production makes it stand out.
13) Midsummer Flashback - Wasn't expecting to hear liquid d'n'b. You wouldn't find this on a CHX CD. If you are truly into hardcore in all its glorious forms you'll love this.
14) Substream - Futurstic synths with a splash of freeform. Banging.
15) Falling Out Of Love - What an intro to a track - piano, strings and then Lisa Abbot opens her mouth - winner. Massive anthem!
If you like hardcore I'd splash the cash on this. How can people say hardcore is dead?!

Balancing Act recently went on sale on TID as a digital download. I whacked 'Falling Out Of Love' into my Saved Tracks a while ago and then bought it today. I could have sworn that it had a DJ friendly intro when I first listened to the sample. I thought perhaps I had bought the wrong one (since it's available through HU as well as Balncing Act on HU [if you see what I mean]), but that's the intro version as well.
No big deal - cracking track still. Just a little sad because you think to yourself "How many times am I going to want to open a mix with the same track?", where as you're more likely to use it more often within a mix.
Definitely no way of asking nicely and getting a DJ friendly intro version, assuming one was made?

The DJ friendly version was released seperately; if you bought Balancing act on CD or as an album then you'll have the intro version.

You know, I'm almost positive that it was a DJ friendly version I had in my Saved Folder on TID. I am normally very careful about stuff like that. Very strange.
Ohhh, would you? That would be lovely. TID seem to have stopped sending me receipts for my transactions now - will a screen grab of my "My Orders/Downloads" area on TID be alright as proof?

However, I'd be happy to fire over the DJ version

There is indeed a DJ friendly version that F&D made for live sets and so on, we wouldn't ask you to pay again for what is essentially the same track with a few extra bars of intro so we'll put it up on our Soundcloud page over the weekend ;)
