I know in my small area, it is blowing up also.. I dont know if it is a good thing or not. I was the kid who had all the cool dance songs, now everyone is all like "hurr durrr dubstep is cool"... Not sure how I like that...
And have you been noticing how much it is in mainstream pop/rap now?

dubstep has been all over our top 40 for a good while now
personally i dont really care - its not a scene i'm that into - i like some of it, mainly the more (what "real" dubstep fans would call) commercial stuff...at least i would imagine its quite commercial seeing as i'm hearing it on daytime radio one Doctor P..
britney spears new track has elements of Wub Wub in it...
pop music is there to make money, they will use whatever elements they can to cash in on whatever they can...
im appreciating the fact i dont have to listen to as much shitty RnB and Indie rock during the day and its getting replaced with DnB and Dubstep

Haha I know exactly what you mean dude, I hate this wanna-be-underground-trend that has been around for the past couple of years now. That's actually what kind of disguted me from Drum & Bass aswell...
It's very Hardcore influenced, actually all of his stuff is... and I think this here borders on Gorestep ;) He does Drum & Bass and Hardcore aswell.
But what I really hate is that the DJ's over here start playing Dubstep in House Clubs and ... GHRRAAA!!! I just want to hear some real good classic House, some early Electro, early Trance and some upfront/progressive Techno, but not DUBSTEP!!!!! If I would like to hear Dubstep, I'd go somewhere else... several times it happened that the Club Engineer switched off everything (which resulted in chaos) because Dubstep just doesn't belong in these clubs and tbh I can understand that...
So what I recommend you is Tekno.. (Do not confuse with Techno, which is the thing that sounds more like monotone House) - It's around 180-200 BPM, not cheesy like Happy Hardcore, but on the other hand it hasn't got distorted kicks like Frenchcore and if you ask me it kicks the **** out of everything
Here my current favs:
Last one is from Cardiak's album "Ovni Trip" which is mainly Tekno but this track is Frenchcore.
Hope you like it, it's a great genre imo :)
And here some good Gabber, very Hardstep/Darkstep-like or I should rather say Panacea/Cooh/Audio/Dylan-Style influenced with great Breakbeats:

Haha it's not really new, it's been there since Happy Hardcore! It's got a huge scene but somehow nobody really knows about it. REAL Underground ;) Hehe
Yeah it's got similar kicks to UK Hardcore but it's twice as good imo
And without the cheese!
It's being played alongside Goa & Psytrance quite often, which again influenced Freeform, so there IS some kind of connection. But Freeform again is very cheesy :S
Well there are many sites, basically everything that has to do with 'Rave' ;) Just search for tekno or hardtek communities on Google and you'll find them! I'm not registered on any so I have no real idea where what is going on!

cheers man, a fresh new load of porn for your ears :P
The good thing about it, is that it's not chav's music, it's too complicated and too complex for chavs. Chavs need simple things that easily get in their ears. My friends who listen to Tekno are all normal and so is everyone else who I know enjoys this music :)
