Hey everyone!
I need your help with my Uni research project! I'm currently conducting research on drug use within UK raves (for my final year uni project - because I'm a raver myself and also, I believe research into drug use is essential!). I'm looking for mainly hardcore ravers, but any other hard dance ravers will be good too :) You just need to have taken drugs previously in a rave, you don't need to be taking them now.
Its a shortish survey, ALL clicky options such as Yes/No or multiple choice. Dont forget to click done on the last page where it says thanks for completing, as a few of my friends have forgot to click & it doesnt register the answers. You dont need to be taking drugs now, as long as you have taken them before at a rave. Plus, everything is totally anonymous & confidential - you don't need to give your name etc.
Clicky here --> https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/W26VDZY In summary, Im looking at motives for drug taking at raves, and polydrug use (using more than one drug in a night incl. Alcohol/weed/tobacco), amongst various other factors. Please help a raver in need! ;) Thanks!!

I would also like to know why people take drugs at raves. I mean, i go to them all the time, have never taken any. And each time i go, i have the time on my life. Dont need and drugs to have a good time

Yeah, I think you can have a good time without also. Although, I can see why ravers would rather take drugs than drink alcohol at a rave.

because drugs are far better than alcohol. I can and frequently do rave sober and I love it. It's not that you need it to have fun it's just that it enhances the night.

For energy, a euphoric feeling... loads of reasons you wouldn't get from drinking alcohol.
My research is looking at many different factors to do with drug use, including social reasons, availability, the knowledge ravers have about the drugs they're taking...

For the same reason anyone does them anywhere, including alcohol. Anywhere at all. The question often comes up as why people 'need' to drugs at a rave but the question is already irrelevant as no one does them because they 'need' to any more than anyone does anythnig else because they need to. You will notice the only people actually making such comments are those that have never done drugs etc, hence their completely illogical and strange view of the matter.

Is the 'such comments' bit aimed at me? Like I said.. I'm part of the rave scene, so why would I have an illogical view?
The research is NOT only based on motives of drug use, I'm also looking at drugs knowledge/quantities of drugs consumed/polydrug use/legal highs etc.. research such as this is needed for appropriate harm minimisation techniques to be established.

Alcohol works fine enough to me! Myself becomes more self-confident and laxly.
I am quite interessted in using XTC and LSD, but seriously will never try.
Due my ADHS illness, I am used to XTC-based drugs like Ritalin or Captagon. The view of getting mucked by that Liquid XTC in your drink is scaring me to hell these days; regarding that the effects probably will cause to lay myself down peacefully and never wake up, again.
I have seen people becoming totally retards after usage of cocaine! I really hate this stuff!
And LSD is too dangerous for my opinion.
EDM and Alcohol works to me enoughly!

It wasn't even partly aimed at you (i was replying directly to Bonkers4Life). I've no idea if you do drugs or not. Also I'm not in support of drugs, it's just an observation. I'm also not suggesting that you have to do drugs to get what I'm saying, just that that's the only time it wouldn't make sense to someone.

I hate the generic 'well I can have a good time without drugs' retort. Well done, so can everyone else, but you'd still have an even better time with them.
