I'm wondering, is there somewhere you can buy (mixed) tracks from albums individually? I don't want to purchase the whole album.
I've checked different sites but nothing...

I am a little confused!
Are you looking for unmixed tracks, you've listened to at a mixed album?
Or do you want the tracks in the mixed style of an album-mix (including intro and outro of previous and following song)?

Yeah I noticed on TID it lists the tracks that are on the album sometimes. But the one I'm looking for (CXH6) isn't there...

The song I want (Reloaded, Hixxy & Technikore) was only released on Vinyl. I need it for a mashup which means I don't care about intros etc. However if I get it on Vinyl, and rip it, first the quality won't be as good and secondly, the BPM won't be constant, which is pretty much the biggest problem. The (mixed) version on CXH6 is a digital file and that should be fine :)

However, I need other tracks aswell.... but first I will care about this one.

If you rip on a direct drive turntable why wouldn't the bpm be constant? all you do is drop the needle while the platter is already spinning. I used to rip my vinyls to minidisc when I had a djing type and worked just fine. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Silver rip his vinyl too to play on CD?

The only way the BPM would be wonky is if the record is warped or the record player is damaged or the wrong type (or if you record it at the wrong RPM). Also, vinyl is technically better than digital in terms of quality (unless said digital audio was encoded in a lossless format from the original).

Edit: On a side note... also make sure the slip mat is flat... yes, I once tried to record with the mat warped up in an area. Couldn't figure out what was wrong until I noticed said mat was shinier than usual, and then everyone had a jolly good laugh about the incident over dinner and fine wine.

No pitch of any Turntable on earth is 100% exact, not even on a Technics, so 3% will never really be 3% and 0% will never be 0 but maybe 0,001% at the end of the vinyl. What I want isn't ripping the track and playing it on CD, but modifying pretty much everything on the track. I import the tracks in Logic and cut off parts, replace parts, add samples and vocals, or, if I do a mashup, layer a complete track over it. Logic can only determine 2 digits after the comma, which means I wouldn't know if it's 170.002 BPM. And then that is the problem, not having a constant BPM when reworking the track in the sequencer!

because of the way Universal set up their albums for digital sale (to resellers like who i work for) this album is only licensed to sell as an entire album - meaning you wont find the tracks (legally) available to buy separately.

A 0.002 BPM difference is negligible. If you have Logic 9 you could use flextime to lock the original tracks tempo to the project tempo markers. The vinyl rip quality issue is more of a problem as every item the signal passes through will degrade the quality.

Even though the most minor differences will add up over time, I strongly doubt such a small tempo difference will cause you any real pain.

I think in the end you'll have to compromise.

It does, because it happened to me often enough.. what do you think why I created this thread, obviously because I've gone trough all possibilities already...

I guess I'll have to get the whole album then *sigh*

but wouldn't this track be pitched up or down anyway thus spoiling perfect tempo? I mean, it's part of a mix!
