I'm assuming the genre is far far too broad to have a single forum dedicated to all forms of Techno, it's nothing like Hardcore. Search for specific forums for the kind of Techno you want. The Blackout Audio website is certainly a good start though, it's owned by Mark E.G.

the description of techno is probably in a similar situation as hardcore. can't be described anymore, lots all its original elements and people just hear something and label it either hardcore or techno, which is the case on these forums

americans label all dance music techno dont they? unless they know the difference
nope
it was all defined as electronica in the 90s, but everything in there still had its own category like jungle, trance, house etc.
it seems that we either use electronic music or edm now
woops misread some of what you say. but yea the ones that don't know the difference do label them as techno

the only techno I'm familiar with is the really old Spiral Tribe stuff and all that freetekno party/squatter scene that sort of orbits the rave scene. When I tune into 'techno' radio stations I hear very minimal stuff I don't know if this is how the music is gone or if I'm listening to a subgenre or something

what exactly does techno sound like these days?
All really good examples apart from second tune. Do you have any mixes with that kind of Techno in because i wouldn't know where to begin to find it. All i know is i know one tune in that style and i really love it (and those too) but don't really know what kind of Techno it is. It's not the usual Hard Techno etc..

REAL techno died out about a decade ago, what they call techno now I wouldn't call it techno.
why can't you get nothing in between the 2 extremes? all that noisey hard shit from germany (which is good don't get me wrong) then you got minimal which is all good. but because of these 2. there's nothing in the middle anymore it has to either be really hard, or really sparse and (almost) relaxing.
bring back the r+s days. oh and CJ bolland's new shit is just yawn.
