j-core is not derogatory, maybe to you. i don't kno any UK residents being offended by the shortening of United Kingdom in the term uk hardcore

Because the genre name is not Core. The don't say UK-Core, they say UK Hardcore. So in that sense its Japanese Hardcore or J-Hardcore for short.
