Sup girls.
Right. I've got no money to give, no imagination to offer. BUT:
Does anyone want to have a stab at knocking up a logo for my website. The only criteria is this: it has to include the words Hardcore Highlights.
My preferences: I'm a traditional/classic kind of guy, but will consider literally anything because I can't do a damn thing myself. Word Art on MS Word is about as far as I go.
So yeah, go crazy, help me out.
I'm basically looking at Olly here, because he's the only one I know that does this design shizzle.

Mate, that's lovely. The text/font/lettering is perfectly to my taste. Simple, conservative.
Can you try two things for me? First, see what it looks like with the stripy line things at the end as well? Bit of symmetry. And second, do the same thing as my first request, but with Hardcore Highlights stacked on top of each other? See primitive text based illustrations below:

*obviously in number two, the stripy things would cover the height of both words, on both sides.

As for the site, it's effectively just a glorified blog. I post multiple daily updates. Anything I can get my hands on - free tracks, DJ mixes, Podcasts, live sets, the occasional EP review, up coming events information. All the content is downloadable. I should point out it's all legitimate content as well, I'm not adding anything that's not already available for free elsewhere on the web.
Basically, I'm pretty amazed at the amount of free tunage out there (especially the increase over the last 12-18 months), and since I've got quite a bit of time on my hands, I thought why not try and have a stab at making a centralized site for all this stuff, that people can check daily?

If you create a central place with all the Krafty, all the SoundCloud, all the J-Core, all the YouTube (eXceed, I'm looking at you), and all the HHC forum free Hardcore tracks in one place, it would be a definite go-to site as well as a bookmark for me, and I'm sure for many others.

Well, I'm not doing too bad so far. Something life 50 free tracks, 12 free albums (soon to be 14) that comprises something like 30 discs, and around 40 mixes (including podcasts, live sets and studio mixes).
Yes, there's a lot more stuff out there. But at the moment, I've got a bit of a balancing act between adding all the stuff that's being made available on a weekly basis currently, and then adding all the stuff that's been available over the last 18 months or so.
In a month or two, I'm gonna be looking in pretty good shape, I think. I'll be able to spend more time concentrating on searching for a greater range of current stuff from more obscure sources. At the moment, time is split between doing that, but mainly uploading and converting and video making and so on, of various old files and tracks (well, not old-old, but back-dated stuff).

Update.
Spent some time (a long time, actually) making some adjustments and improvements today. I think you'll approve.

There's now a dedicated page where free tracks are listed. They're organized by the week in which they were added to the site. At a quick glance, you can now see what's new, without having to scroll through pages of blog posts (since I'm adding between four and six blog posts a day). Now, I'll only be doing actual posts for what I deem post-worthy. The rest of the tracks will just go straight onto this page. I'm probably going to do (I'm thinking Monday mornings) a weekly report to list/detail what free tracks have been added over the previous week.
8 tracks added today so far, with 25 being added last week.
Don't forget, this is just the track section. There's a similar set-up for mixes/live sets/podcasts. I'm also doing features on new EPs being released, as well as listing event information.
If you've got ideas for improvements, I'm all ears. I've never done anything like this before, and I'm just trying to make the best of the resources I've got available.
Bear in mind, I'm not investing any money in this at the moment. The template for the site is a free template that I chose when signing up with Word Press. The only thing I've paid for so far, is $17 for the year for the HardcoreHighlights.com domain.
There are things I'd like to do in the future (essentially create an entire working database for free hardcore tracks, and the same for DJ mixes), but I can't afford to pay someone to implement that at the moment.
What I am doing is spending upwards of six to eight hours a day on it though, in order to make it the best it can be without spending hard cash.

It will just be mixes. Later on, once I have enough money saved up, it will go to CD.
The site is very well done. I spend a good amount of time on it getting the tracks :D Just keep doing what you are doing, its very good!
