best programme to make an album cover

my friends just bin round n asked if i could make him an album cover n i said yes but me being me didn't think before i gave an answer lol what wud be the best programm to buy or are there any gud free ones i can download???

I think gimp is tyhe best free alternative to PS, but you wont make much quality stuff without experience or other programmes such as 3ds max.

Adobe Illustrator is probably the best 'paid' software you'll get for creating images. It's expensive though.

Photoshop and gimp is more image editing rather than creating.

get illustartor in a pack. i wouldnt get it individually myself.

i think i may get illustrator (in a few months as i'm broke) i asked my uncle about it coz he's into art n shit n he said it wud be a good choice i was gonna be a prick to my mate n make a shitty little cover by using that paint programme on windows 7 but he wants to break into the world of hip hop so it wud be best to make a decent cover for um n i just checked the price of illustrator just now it's around 500 smackers sheesh it must be good lol

There's no best software to make an album cover with, you can use any of these. It all depends on how you use the tools. :)

Try the demo versions before shelling out - it all depends on what works for you. Some amazing art has been created with the basic programs that come with windows.

i got a copy of adobe photo deluxe from my uncle it'san old 1 but it's pretty good just gotta cum up with sum hip hop style artwork n i'll be set he wants it to be like graphitti so i'm gonna google sum pics for inspiration...i'm gonna enjoy this lol

Autocad. I gringe every time i use an image editing software that doesn't let me set everything with an absolute accuracy. The full version costs about 4000e, but is well worth the price. Though its a vector graphics software, so you would probably be better of with another type of software.
