what the hell is up with the website at the minute?
the page's arent loading properley, click on a thread takes a while to even get into read it!!
Silver needs to think of upgrading the site to make it run faster as it is really off putting.
I thought i would go and have a look at what's been going on in the scene etc and cant even get to load the pages properley!!!!!
It is 2011 if this is how the site is left to run then am not surprised that since my lst visit of over a month ago there was just that many topics active!
Definetley time for an overhaul mi thinks!

As has been said, changing the site would make 0 difference apart from maybe getting the people who are here already to leave. If people aren't interested in reading Hardcore forums then they aren't interested, nothing will change that. The site has been slow for me too although it's pretty much back to normal now.

Site has been running slow for me too, maybe just a temp. glitch. Never actually been on USH....wonder what the difference in activity is between now and last year? I've only just came back to have a peek and only recognise a handful of posters so far.

The site is running utterly appallingly. I swear its since that server change that all these code errors have appeared....

I agree with kathryn, this site definitely needs a change.
This forum software is ancient. I think everyone would benefit if it were upgraded.
I personally hate this theme. I don't like the colours and the icons look like they came from Windows 95.

It should be Silver himself making changes really he is the owner of the site isnt he?
If he was to change the out look of this site, make it more appealing and up to date then maybe donations will be justified!!

you have proven nothing. just because only 4 topics have been active in the last 7hrs does not mean it's due to a lack of an update on here. honestly ppl have more going on with their lives than making sure they are up-to-date on an hourly basis to this site. I personally don't post much on here due to a lot of negativity on the site. Most ppl who post these days don't have a lot of good to say about the current music and I personally don't want to be a part of that negativity (anymore).

I've personally invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into this site and a comments of "fix it and I might donate" doesn't really sit well with with coming from someone who owes their marriage and family to this site.
I've just invested a bunch of money into getting new servers but like everything they need to be tweaked, I have too have to pay rent so I need to work to do that and pay for the servers!
I don't see anyone else lining up to help with the site so please bare with me until we get things sorted.
I think a site that has been running for 10 years for no expense to you, you could be a little more understanding.

I was waiting for this post, and I couldn't agree more.
The whole "this site looks dated, that's why it's not popular" argument has been going on for ages now and I personally think it's a load of bollocks. Good people are what make a good forum. Appearance/lay-out is a factor, but a small one.
When I venture over to new forums to check them out (of any kind), and when I'm assessing whether to join, I'm not thinking "Ohh, that yellow header looks superb against that black background. Now I'm definitely signing up".
What I am thinking is "Well, these lot seem like a pretty decent crowd, I think I'll get involved".
Forums are always about content. It's great if they look nice - but if prettyness is a deal breaker to someone, then I doubt that someone is going to be the kind of person to meaningfully contribute to the atmosphere of the forum.
The point about the site running slowly recently is a fair one, but if you were to be even mildly observant, you would have seen the recent topics about the site running slowly, and within those, Silver's words about being patient and that he's working on straightening things out after a recent server upgrade.
(Disclaimer: All of the above isn't aimed at a specific individual, just to people in general who are whinging too much).
I will take you up on one thing though, Silver:

I know for fact that Mortis has offered his services on a number of occasions about pitching in with some work, but you weren't very receptive. Whether or not that's what you meant be "helping", I don't know. Maybe you mean donations?

Def agree with Silver's post I was gonna get into greater detail but I didn't want to repeat what has been said countless times already on numerous occasions to many other members.
But I am also wondering, what type of help do you mean? I also know that Mortis has offered help as well as a few others have volunteered to be moderators. What type of help are you seeking exactly?
