No, not my pants! I've been trying to rip CD3 of Nu Energy 100 on Windows media player but while it will play ok, the tracks won't show up in the Rip tab. Had no trouble at all with My rave so why would this happen?

Use anything else but Windows Media Player? Try Audiograbber.

Wise words. What's wrong here is that you're using Windows Media Player, lol.

And did u make sure that CD was burnt/recorded in audio format? Like, tried to simply copy/paste files to your hard drive. Then just remove the CD and see if they play. If they do, means tht format is digital so it doesn't have to be ripped.
Ripping was made for analogue audio format only (80 minutes per CD, regardless the quality) because informations there r not digital files and they cant be copied/pasted like digital files, and if u try all u get is a frigging shortcut. I know WMP and it should work just perfectly on analogue.
EDIT: What was I thinking when I wrote this? If nothing works, and u can play the music from it there is no doubt it's digital. Just create a folder on ur hard disk and copy/paste the files in it.

Well, Microsoft turned to a bunch of lazy lads who only think of money.
In WMP it takes time to load a track and there are problems playing some files. And in its new version you no longer can remove album arts (if you added the wrong one). As for Windows Movie Maker, it sould really use more codecs, more editing options, and more quality options.
Besides that, their internet browser (Internet Explorer) is the worst and the slowest one out there, and it uses too much CPU, especially if u have multiple tabs open (Firefox tab issues are at least 20 times lower, if it's number of tabs even affects CPU). Also, their antivirus software (Trend Micro) has low popularity.

pretty sure CD3 is a Data discs containing the unmixed mp3s
It's just copy from the CD like a normal disc and put them in another folder

(Little off-topic now, I just want to say this)
Eventhough analogue quality is always better (vinyl, audio CD...), rendering from digital to analogue, especially in burning, is only good if on low speeds. However, you'll never get better sound than it was in the original, you can only make it worse, because analogue is being written directly on the disc.

Same as Kev Energy's My rave, and that was perfectly ok.
Which is exactly why i'm puzzled about this!

Such an awesome release tmo! I nearly cry every time I listen to CD2.
It's a great opportunity to sell the unremixed tracks along with a compilation.

Haha, opening a new tab in IE takes me 2-3 seconds, in Firefox it happens immediately. IE just sucks!

No idea why any1 would use IE but it's a fact that many people still do. My IE statement was just an example of nowadays Microsoft.
I have experienced WMP issues I mentioned. However, they are not severe. The loading issue actually happens only for the first track u play. But in version 11 it's impossible to remove/change album arts.
But comparing to many other Microsoft products, its quite a good one and has a great sound. For playing music it works perfectly if everything is good with the files. However, the program could be better.
And you can't play MKV or FLAC in WMP. FLAC thing is messed up because it seems to be the best digital format out there.
