Hey all,
When USH was around we used to have a thread at the start of most every month where people listed the top ten tracks they were digging a lot at the moment. A lot of people posted brand new tracks they had just heard on soundcloud or in recent sets, but older tracks are fine too. People would comment on and discuss other's picks. I enjoyed those threads, so I figured I'd carry on the tradition and hopefully spark some more life into these boards. So, here's my top ten for the start of this month:

This sounds like a good idea, it'd be nice if we did this every month and then in december tallied up the most voted for tracks and declared it as 'HappyHardcore.com's favorite track'.
Are we allowed to do old skool? And is freeform/j-core/makina/gabber allowed?
Also, not related to your post; Where does Psycore stand on the genre map? Psycore is 160-180bpm Psytrance and labelled as such by the Psy scene (not the hardcore scene). Is it a hardcore splinter genre or a psytrance splinter genre? And if the latter - does that mean that 'dubcore' and 'electrocore' are splinter genres of electro/dubstep and not Hardcore at all? (Food for thought, I'm not asking for a debate on this here)

Yeah, tallying them up at the end of the year could be a good idea. Someone would have to want to do that though.
I'd say all styles of hardcore should be allowed. And psycore... sure, why not? No point in making strict rules about something like this, methinks.
Interesting point about the splinter genres... I guess you could think of them as crossover genres, as both genres equally. Although, I do tend to associate the electrocore/dubcore more with hardcore, and psycore more with psytrance.

I'd do it, it's just a case of going through the threads at the end of the year and counting a few numbers up. I think if the same track was voted by the same person in two or more different threads only their first vote would count, otherwise I could just put DJ Rankin - Angels Eyes for every entry in my top ten and get 120 votes...and we wouldn't want that now :P
EDIT: And yeah I do too, but really only because Psytrance raves are more open minded and will play all kinds of psychedelic music whereas Hardcore raves only play Hardcore. That and basically because we've been told by a handful of producers that the new electro-y music is hardcore, other than that there's probably not much of an argument to even suggest it has anything to do with the genres.
Anyway, I'll post my top 10 in a bit. I'd say it's worth sticking to just the *core genres as we are in "Music Discussion - Hardcore" so no Spice Girls please anyone =P
