A while we was going to start the best tunes of every year which started from 1991 but we never got any further. So im going to suggest that you throw in your fvorites for the 1992

This is a good year for Old Skool, it got faster and more new ideas came about. It was also said to be the year we first got Gabber thanks to the Dutch. In fact even none Hardcore tunes from this year where good as well...

So here is my list of favorites, in no order:
Sy Kick - Nasty (Original and Remix)
Urban Hype - Trip to Trumpton
Terrorize - Its just a feeling
Xenophobia - Rushing The House
Tango - Can' Stop the Rush
Sy Kick - Up side
Synthesis - Lets get Together
Maniax - I cant stand it
Tango - Factor 5
Rythem Section - Perfect Love
DJ Phantasy & Gemini - Everybody is under the infulence
Sy Kick - The Journey
De Gabbers - Rubbish
Awesome 3 - Dont Go
Baby D Let me be your fantasy (Acen in wonderland mix)
Rotterdam Termination Source - Poing!
DJ Gizmo - Don't you want my lovin'

I barely have checked out the Hardcore sounds of 1992, but following track seems to be a burner:

And I have a message for Scooter for the next decades: F U!

That is a big call saying tracks from 2012 are not as good as 1992. While there was great music back then. You can't stay stuck in the past.
Productions today are a million times better than back then. I'm no way dishing the people that produced in 92. They did amazing things for that time.
Music today is just way more complex and well mastered with better technology. Guys like Fracus and Darwin are doing some amazing Hardcore Breakbeat with the oldskool flavour, as well as Slipmatt, C*L*S*M and Entity. Check them out, I'm sure you'll be impressed:)

Not bad for being two years old when you wrote it!

I agree that production is a lot better now (although I don't think anybody around now comes close to Austin Reynolds, apart from maybe Hattrixx), however for me hardcore in 1992 was far more creative the music was better, and for me, that's more important than production. The sound was new, hadn't splintered into a million different sub genres. It was anything goes, from big reagge licks, techno hoovers, Italian house pianos, cartoon samples, hip hop breaks, so much was ground breaking back then. There is a lot of good stuff going on now as you point out, but presonally whilst a lot of tunes out now are ok, there's not much that really excites me like tunes did from 91 to 94. This could be my age, but I do think this was the golden age for hardcore. I disagree that music is more complex now, i'd probably say the opposite, everything is in a basic formula for dj friendly mixing and in general you know what a tune is going to do as soon as it starts.
