CD 1 Blood
Cat like thief - When i see the sunshine: nice ambient track that really sets up the CD well.
Damage and heartfelt aren't really my thing but aren't the most horrid thing i've ever heard.
Summer breeze 2012 once again showcases Fracus and Darwins mediocracy and the track is no more than midle of the road pleasantness that might get on my nerves after a few listens.
Break it back down by Sam B is a nice retro styled track that i think a few people will really enjoy although the one after that did little for me and neither did a different view. Doesn't have to be gets a big thumbs up from me for being a retro styled remix of a track i always liked and it's nice to get a suprise like these every so often. Up on high is a nice track and This is a club track is offensive to ears everywhere.
Notek Really isn't what i was expecting from gammer and was quite a pleasant suprise.
Feel the melody has quite a nice melody but i'm really not sure what to make of the vocal.
CD 2 Sweat
When i saw Al Storm i wondered which Al storm we were going to get but i think the track is a bit middle road but could grow on me over time (sounds a little scott brownish). The three breakbeat tracks were very skippable but the next retro track from Sam B is definately worth listening to.
R U Ready is the best track so far that is until i listened to the slipmatt remix of never coming back.
Dynamo cookie is pretty dreadful and the fracus remix of doesn't have to be isn't the best i've ever heard. Then there's Al Storms remix of Feel the melody and i'm sure he's been using early 2000's sounds from Scott brown but mind you it's far better than the gash he had been producing these last couple of years.
The last two tracks are pretty fogettable and so it's on to the last disk.
CD 3 Tears
Another breakbeat opener this time with ponder which little for me but start things off. Get past that and here comes the freeform and it's pretty good. it's sorta the light beat and twisty melody stuff that i don't usually go for but it's going to be massively popular with alot of folk. I don't feel the need to go track by track with these ones because i find it hard to pick out the best or worst in freeform because of the way it blends but when i'm less flued up i'll give the full journey a better listen.
I don't like the way Immortal is named a gabber remix because it really isn't. The speed freaks remix is interesting and the ambient track at the end is a poor way to end the compilation.
Overall the negatives are very few with only two tracks that i could utterly hate which when compared to entire CDs with some compilations and perhaps some entire compilations. The worst i can say about some of it is that it does little for me. I wanted to mention negatives purely because the positives outweigh then greatly.
The positives are plenty of well made retro style tracks that are good to listen to and while there are not really any huge standout and slap me in the face awesome tunes that i want to listen to over and over, i'm pretty pleased with the purchase and don't regret it one bit. I really hope that this isn't Thumpa's last compilation as the scene needs them in my eyes and while i've been a somewhat jaded fan of hardcore for some time that is finding it harder and harder to enjoy with the current wave of fart and wop wop, these disks give me hope and i hope they give others a whole lot more.
I give the compilation a 7/10 and to Thumpa i give my thanks and my respect.

Now I know why it's taken so long. Looks like a hell of a lot of work has gone into this compilation and you can tell it's a high quality release like Hardcore Underground. Mine should arrive soon being in Putney. Can't wait:)

Ok, so I have listened to the CDs roughly 2 times.
Very varied stuff, but then how often do you see Al Storm do more freeformy (even thou it sounds more like Scott Brown), or Gammer doing makina? :D
Is it me, or does alot of the tracks have an Scott Brown/Evolution sound going on?
Just a quick update until I really have listened to the tracks.
The track(s) I like the most so far are Heartfelt (haven't StrifeII made this track before, but without vocals?), Feel the Melody (both versions), Sylph, Immortal (Gabber mix).
Atleast 2 tracks seem to have references to game music. Damage (sounds like Wonder Boy In Monster World) and Hawaii definitly has Metroid 1 sounds in it. The Eere part around 0:30 reminds me of the Metroids section in the game :P
I kinda like Damage, Notek, Pure Embrance.
But I do not like Dyndamo Cookie (gawd, how many versions of this tracks exists?), and I was utterly dissapointed on the Betwixt & Between track. Here I thought it would be freeform, 200bpm with gabber elements, but I guess I was excepting to much :P
btw, the filename reference from my screen shot was "Bloody Tears", which is a track from Castlevania 2

After listening to the album a few times, and more importantly getting battered and having a mix, this is what I liked the best
CD1 - Damage - Gavin G, break It back down - Sam B, Doesn't Have to Be - Haze (don't normally like new remakes of classics, but this is quality) Everybodys Crazy - Shimamura, this tune is the dogs bollocks, liked Notek by Gammer as well.
CD2 - Nite life (chris ross remix) - Little Fella, this is my fav tune from all 3 cds, this is how hardcore should sound imo. Panik (Gav G remix) - Alex Bassjunkie. Lets Go (haze remix) - Sam B
CD3 - This is the cd i've listened to the least, most it sounds alright, the 2 tunes that reall stood out for me were Hawaii bt Douglas and Thumpa and Speedfreaks remix of Party Crashin' Killing Machine by Andy Freestyle is superb.
Great variety all round, there's only one tune on all 3cds I thought was a massive pile of gash, and that was S3RL ft Sara -feel the melody.
