Because it's no longer the outstanding contribution award, it's the lifetime achievement award. So regardless of how Sharkey left the scene, if you vote for him it would be voting for all that he's done for the hardcore scene while active.
He hurt his standing with me with the knobheadery he pulled when quitting, so I wouldn't vote for him for lifetime either way! :D

I agree, progress has been made since last years selection but does anyone think these awards make the scene appear really small & inactive?
Over the past year or so there seemed to be a surge of fresh & inventive music coming from new albums, labels, artists but the awards just don't seem to reflect this.

What, you mean like ReBuild Music up for best label, HU up for best label, Fracus & Darwin up for best producers, Douglas up for breakthrough producer, Prospect up for breakthrough producer...?
There are a LOT of new artists, labels, DJs etc on this year's awards! It is a pretty decent reflection of what's going on.

Funny shit as usual. Slightly better list than I remember in the past but still awful.
"Best hardcore DJ: Darren Styles"
"Best label: Raver Baby"
"Best breakthrough producer: Petruccio & Modulate"
"Track of the year: Re-Con & Klubfiller - Good For Me"
"Track of the year: <all the unreleased ones>"
"Best record shop/online store: CD Pack Superstore"
"Breakthrough DJ: Sc@r"
"Best compilation album: Hardcore Heaven Summer Madness"
"Best podcast/radio show: Next Generation"
etc.
(The reason varies between them being unfeasibly shit and being way too old to win the award they're nominated for)
