Already signing tracks to the next album, its right round the corner!

It will either be 2 or 3 CDs - to be honest I've been sent quite a few freeform tracks already and not much hardcore/breaks so we will have to see, I am leaning more towards the freeform side of things but I dunno, it depends on what I get sent.

What would you say is wrong with it, exactly? Or at least, what didn't appeal to you?

You could say that the numbers show the likelyness of me mixing it :P
I don't think it's bad, just doesn't appeal to me to like it alot (3/5 is likeable, while 5/5 is making me cum :P)

Early Kevin Energy is a good thing however lol. So it's a complement really.

I'd just like to know of some specifics that weren't appealing, or maybe what you felt was missing. I'm not insulted at all (that would be dumb) or trying to go for the "attempt to please everyone" strategy (which is impossible) but every little thought is valuable to me.

I thought it was just a neutral statement to be honest. :p I guess that's part of what confused me.
Edit: If you do elaborate Samination, could you do it over PM? I realised I'm starting to derail this thread. :x

you really have commendable thinking right there joseph.
I would like to give an review on your track too, but I will get my copy next week when I'm lucky since I payed for the album only 2 days ago (there were some leftovers from Freeformania, as reminder).
Anyway, what I can say now is: "Early Kevin Energy" reminds me of really decent stuff pre-freeform but imo. the melodies were kinda simple and the buildups took a long time, at least in some tunes. Or not incentive and intensive enough to animate people to start dancing and headbanging to it.

Here are my thoughts:
quote:
Big Mistake - Comet / Friend said its amazing and I enjoy the bass. Synths are nice
Tornadoz - M.D.M.A. / Riff on this tune is amazing! Great work.
Aryx - Celestia / I agree with Sam on this.
Ponder - Impulse / Ponder is a great producer and this song really shows it.
Serenade - Floorfiller / Agreed with Sam
Alek Szhala - Lagash 2012 / WAT song is amazing your crazy Sam.
Le Dos-On - Yksisarvinen / Again, like the above track - amazing.
Pinnacle & Thumpa - Like A Bulldozer / Hawaii was a great tune, but this is A LOT BETTER!
Amini - Fking Pirates / Hard pumping freeform with a soft breakdown.
Douglas - D Is For Discovery / Sam is crazy for giving this bass heavy song a low score! Ambient breakdown = success.
quote:
StrifeII - Lockdown / I love StrifeII, but I feel this is one of his weaker tracks.
Andy Dee - Dreamcatcher / Hard driving bass with a Breakdown that is sure to give you shivers.
JD-Kid - Unforgettable / This is how Trance should be made. Well 170 BPM Trance!
Synth Wulf - Passacaglia / I thought the Chris Ross Remix was amazing this blew my mind. Amazing song arrangement.
Greg Peaks - Love That Passion / Another stand out track IMO. Euphoric & how can you not like a breakdown that sounds like the killers for a second after the cutoff comes off!
Transcend & Kaos Theory - Man On Acid / My friend and I thought this was a great track from Transcend & Kaos. The Dubstep Inspired breakdown is one of the best to date. Samples = Win.
Helix - Now Control (Darwin Remix) / Big Kick + Darwin = 5
Eryk Orpheus & Flip - The Gatekeeper / Agree with Sam.
Endemic - The Chosen / That synth is amazing! I can't stop dancing!
DJ 3Star - Do You Wanna Dance / What more can you ask for? Great to listen to, great samples and fun to mix!
quote:
Grimsoul - Sorcereresses / Amazing feeling from this track. Unlike Sam I think the vocals really add to this!
Qygen feat. Leo Hartley - Silicon Skies / This track sends you on a fckin trip.
Alek Szhala - Dawnstar (Aryx Remix) / I don't know what to say other than MORE!
Helix & Fury - Insane Alysum (Gammer Remix) / Production is top notch, but I think there are better tracks on the CD.
Substanced & Alchemist - Facemelt / Great song!
Invader - False Flags No Longer Fly / meh...sorry
A.B - The Push / Old School sound but then goes into an amazing freeform/hard style feel.
Nick 235 & Midas - Wonderful Adventure / Great samples, great breakdowm, great piano, bad drop..
Suge - Yabarekabare / Um this is amazing.
+12V - Usambara / Early Kev Energy feel, great breakdown, euphoria up the ass. Nothing bad I can say about +12V
Final thoughts: Great buy IMO. Every Rebuild release is better than the last. (Well it is hard to beat Die Another Day it came with Tokyo Hardcore All Night Long!)
Seriously, if your a freeform type of person then this is for you!
+12V your other track I received in the mail is amazing as well. Keep up the work you have a great future in music! :)

Not taking a dig on Douglas there, but I've never really liked his tracks. The ambient parts is what puts me off actually :P
And I also want to clarify why I use numbers. I've never been good with describing things (people here can attest to that :P), so I thought using numbers instead would work better.
