I'm looking to start downloading MP3/WAVS again after a bit of time away. Can any of you guys and girls recommend the best providers? Is there any others I should know about other than Juno & Track It Down. Obviously after the latest music and a maybe a classic or two, so any help on pointing me in the right direction would be great. Also do any of them offer specials, like 3 for 2 or is it just straight pay me and you get your download!? Also is there any where I can get hold of up and coming artists music, I've seen on the forum on here various up and comers offering their tracks for free, is this the best place to find free stuff that isn't an illegal to download?

And finally if I know a specific track I want can you go direct to the labels website, do they tend to offer all their back catalogue for download, like Quosh or Next Gen etc etc

Thanks guys and girls :-)

Think track it down is the best option for hardcore mate, most new releases are exclusive to Track it down for a couple of weeks before they are available elsewhere. They have a good offer where u can pay 10 and you get all mp3 downloads for 99 pence for one month. Think it's called track it down pro. A good deal if your planning to download a lot of music but not really worth it if your only buying a couple of tunes a week. I think the bigger names are trying to take hardcore away from Track it down though so watch this space I guess.
A lot of up and coming artists as well as some bigger ones post free tunes up on soundcloud. For example Gammer recently posted his remix of Clear Vu - Never too late for free download on soundcloud.
Quosh have their whole back catalogue as well as some exclusives available on their official website (assuming its still running?) not sure about other labels.

Trackitdown occasionally have "TID Pro" days where everything is half-price for 24 hours. It depends how long you're willing to wait, but it might be worth adding a load of tunes to your My Saved Tracks and hope one comes along soon-ish? Save a load of dosh - as it quickly mounts up on these sprees.

In terms of classics - still basically a lot that's unavailable. You'll soon get a feel of what labels are and aren't.

As for free tracks, I run a website that has comfortably over 500 of them. All legal. Varies in quality, but you can listen to almost all of them before downloading. Might be worth having a look:

So far one of the best sites I've seen out there for customers all around the world is AudioJelly. They have almost the exact same thing as beatport and a lot of stuff that is currently at TrackItDown. Their prices are much better than those 2 sites every day, so no waiting for a pro day or a discount code to come to you. It's 0.99 quid/euros/dollars per track, and a real nice discount when buying an EP bundle or album. Oh and you have the option of either getting 320mp3 or WAV for the same price.

http://www.audiojelly.com/

Personally I've started going to this site first before any others to make my purchase. If I can't find what I'm looking for I just go to beatport, and then TID. Since the conversion rate from UK to US currency is ridiculous I just usually wait for pro days at TID to get those tracks. There is still a good number of stuff that you can only find at TID.

I'll try this again.

This may seem a surprising answer, but Amazon.
Cheaper than iTunes, lots of hardcore (though generally only top-tier releases), and 320!
I always check amazon first before I go to TID.

isnt that a big disadvantage? anyway, i hope amazon is pushing more into the digital tune market and artists release more stuff on this platform aswell! would be great to buy books, games and tunes e.g. all at once on amazon.

Aren't the ones on Amazon only VBR rather then 320? Can't complain too much with the price like, but still.

I've bought a few and certain they were all VBR. Unless there was an option I wasn't seeing to download high quality, I dunno.

Hrm, you may be right. My kbps analyzer said 128, but everything I've bought has definitely sounded 320.
My point being though, if you just plan on casually listening, you can do much worse for the price.

i don't think there's really any noticeable difference between 128 and 360 anyway tbh

Depends on the source quality. There is a difference between 128 and 320, but there is very little to no appreciable difference between 192 and 320. When 128 is badly encoded its really bad, but it can also be good.
