A properly-done 128 is completely transparent to me. And the vast majority of people, I believe (although plenty like to think otherwise).
I personally avoid TID like the plague because I have a major problem with their anti-piracy measures. Even if you don't actively fileshare, the point is: do you really want personally identifiable information embedded in your mp3s?

Yeah, it says on some obscure page (T&Cs or something like that) that they embed your user ID into your downloads so they can find the buyer of a specific mp3 later if need be.
I haven't looked into it but I think it's stored at the metadata level so you can probably strip it out easily enough with Mp3Tag but it's a bit of a fuss and there's always the principle of the whole thing!

personally I dislike Beatport because it used to be a mess and overpriced. Oh wait it's still overpriced (for me). Buying full singles on Beatport is a fcking crime, or used to be. I prefer Juno Download if they have what I want, or I will use TrackItDown.
Elliott: iTunes does the same, but TiD's ID3 tags are usually broken, and if you download as wav, there's no tags (not with standard wav formats)

I havent seen one bit of personal information embedded in one of my tunes i purchased from TID lately... so, it only happens on tunes from bigger artists because it's too expensive for our underground scene?

Adding a ID3 isn't hard. You can just use commandline with Lame MP3, which is infact what TID are using, and to my knowledge, they are breaking the mp3 license by using the lame codec.

Thanks guys, to be honest you were all helpful, the free website was very nice. I ended making a Juno and TID account. I purchased a load of recent stuff and a few classics of TID and was happy enough with the service. I found this forum one of the best sources for free up and coming stuff, really good stuff on here and also whoever said Soundcloud, found some gems on there too. Thanks guys and girls again, was a big help. Dusted of my CDJ's this afternoon and had a rip with all the new tracks I have. If you have anymore sources of tunage then let me know :-)

IMO Download use to have a great selection especially if you were looking for some happy hardcore labels of the 90s. But that seems to have all been scrapped and now they have a real crap selection on the IMO Records site.

isn't it run by the same people as IMO Records? Anyways IMOdownload might've had loads of crap, but they still allowed lesser knowns to release their stuff there.

Somewhat annoyed that IMODownload closed before I got a chance to ravage it. They had quite a lot of hardcore that I never saw for sale anywhere else.
Though, before it closed, I did hear a few stories of people not being paid for ages so it's probably for the best that it's gone.

For hardcore music I use TID with a Pro account also if the quality of the previews really sucks and the way u download the files is not so good.
Bestport is still the best online shop imo...previews sounds better then TID, you have Beatport pro platform (only for mac) wich is really good, and beatport downloader

Probably the best service ever!

audiojelly barely had any hardcore. Only reason I used to use Audiojelly was to get Nukleuz mp3's
