Petruccio & Modulate - Missing (Gammer Remix) readily comes to mind

Personally much preferred the original but based on how much play they both got, I'd say I'm probably in the minority.

Loved the original as well but the styles remix just clinches it for me.

Yep! Ham's in my top, perhaps, 2 or 3 best hardcore producers ever though so in my mind there's not much harm in being bested by him!

Think you've maybe misunderstood me there mate. I meant that basically every Eclipse tune had a remix which was better than the original. For example the breeze and styles remix of 24/7 was much better than the original, likewise the brisk and vagabond remix of hearts desire was much better than the original etc etc.

I preferred the Eclipse mix of Your Angel to the Brisk & Vagabond mix!

No way, the original of 24-7 is easily the best. And the original of Free Your Mind is by far the best! The remix is just generic.

I'd have to agree with you on that one. The original of your angel was amazing. Be happy is also a tough one to call, both mixes were amazing

I kind of like the Darren Styles remix a bit more than the original, it just adds a bit more variety in the sound. I actually think the original version comes off more generic.
For some reason I confused the original with the Sy & Unknown remix. The Sy & Unknown remix sounds very generic, so definitely favor the DS remix over that one. Comparing the DS remix to the actual original, I still go with the DS remix. But the original is good, I just think the vocals are better suited for something a little less dark.

Going back to the Eclipse thing, no f**king way are the remixes better than the originals, especially for 24/7. Although for a time I would have agreed with you, going back and comparing them there is just so much amazing shit going on in the original version, whereas the Breeze & styles remix is so watered down and simplified.

As far as Be Happy goes, they are both brilliant. I wouldn't say that the remix surpasses the original, but it certainly does do it justice.

Definitely the Hearts Desire remix is way better. There's just too much going on in the remix for me to choose it over the original.

Before Tomorrow was not one of my favorites from Ham/Eclipse, but I still have both versions. And same thing going on as in 24/7, the Breeze & Styles remix is just watered down too much from the original.

Both tunes mentioned there, it was only ever the remixes I heard at raves around the time. Only ever heard the originals when I got the vinyl and still always preferred the remix.

The styles remix of Free your Mind is also amazing but the Sy and unknown remix is by far the best imo. I loved their sound back then, very bouncy and energetic. Lots of good memories with that tune.

As for 24/7 the original just sounds a bit flat to me, s&b remix had much more of an anthem sound to it like most of their stuff back then. Exact same with before tomorrow.... Opinions eh? ;-)

See one of my earlier posts about be happy, agree with you on that one, very hard to choose a winner there.

Agreed. The original is something else. Amazing piece of work.

Yes.

disagree, although a good remix it doesn't quiet have the 'oomph' of the subbass on the original or the superior slipmatt remix
