really disappointed with all those tracks he put up on his soundcloud. either really lame electro sounds or it sounds like sped up swedish house mafia. too bad :/

I do like the occasional Re-Con track, but wasn't impressed with HTID vol.3

You could tell the direction he was going in by his few recent-ish tracks though -- like that shameless rip-off of Calling on CXH8.
I have plenty of faith in him though. Even if he just produces the really mainstream dance-oriented stuff, he still has the ability to come out with the odd tune which sounds nothing like what anyone else in the top tier is doing at that time (e.g. The New Style, Walk, The Wheezels, Gyroscope). I find him an exciting artist to follow even now.

What an unnecessary remix. Re-Con is capable of producing some decent stuff, but this I think is lazy. Why bother remixing a song that I personally don't think needed a remix, and that still has the original being played out a lot still? It doesn't need an update. The least he could have done is remix something that was less popular that could have benefited from an update.
Honestly this is why I love the Hardcore Underground crew so much. They focus more on making original material all the time rather than spend so much time working on remixes and whatnot. And even when they do produce remixes, they are always so farfetched from their original and easily stand alone as an amazing track rather on "well this is the same stuff, just newer!" Perfect example is Darwin's remix of Unlock Ya Brain. Yea it was released on NextGen, but he is part of Hardcore Underground. I genuinely was concerned it was not going to sound good, but holy shit what a track! Since then I learned never to question Darwin again lol :)

flashlight remix is a pile of shit, completely ruined one of the greatest hardcore tracks of modern times, complete travesty, should of just left it alone.

Yeah, sadly, I've got to say that that's a pretty lifeless remix. I've got a lot of love for Re-Con, but that's a nothing effort. It's been done in that particular energyless style that's quite popular at the moment, and whether it was a remix of Flashlight or You're Shinning or whatever - if it's done in that style, I'm never really gonna warm to it.
It doesn't bother me that he's remixed it. As I've said before, I don't really buy into this "Ahh he's ruined a perfectly good track..." business. No, he hasn't. The remix still exits. And you can play it whenever you want.

Agree completely with everything you say there Jay you sexy chunk of hardcore man love.
Not his best work that flashlight remix but its hardly ruined the whole track.
I can't get enough of the lana del ray remix he has on his soundcloud. Such good summer vibes from it and an amazing riff when it kicks in.

I disagree about the Flashlight remix. I think it's quality and I love the rumbling bassline on the first drop!! Got played twice at TLI last night and really went down well!!
Also, Hixxy played the version of Satellite in that video last night. I really like it but I do love the breakbeat section in the one released.
