Numbers at raves have picked up over the last 12 months in comparison to the 12 months before that. And that goes for underground and the more commercial events.

You see this bitch knows, he's at every event ;)

But really he does he's one of the very few people who actually go to events rather than some on here who despise the current scene and go to events sparingly or not at all.

"It appears that hardcore ? by which I mean jungle, happy hardcore and various types of techno ? is made of special particles that reverberate at a unique frequency. Although we do not understand how or why this is possible."

LOL this is so funny!

Besides hardcore has been "dying" over ten years now according to most jaded old farts. It's clearly not going anywhere anytime soon.

A better indication is actually the number of events being held.

Event and touring companies can have slow events or they can have slow campaigns that might pick up again at a later date. If they're still holding them, then it's not a problem and probably just a slump.

Events dying off is a sure sign of any genre in decline. Are there less events being held though?

Not that I'm aware of. I think the number of small events is growing.

There's definitely less events from HTID, Uproar and Slammin Vinyl than there used to be, although I think there's a few other events these days that are more or less the same size. Ravers Reunited, The Only Way is Hardcore to name a couple (although I've not been to either). So all in all its probably balanced out.
Not sure about the smaller raves

yea HTID's weekenders seem to fail they've cancelled a couple haven't they? I know they cancelled this year's spring weekender. And people said there were less ravers at this year's HTID ITS. I wouldn't necessarily say that a couple of companies' events dying off or declining an indication of the scene dying as a whole though, because more than likely it's just that company f**king shit up or people find them just losing their luster.

I get a ton of invites for hardcore events in the UK, and seems like there's at least one going on every week. The scene seems to be pretty good if the ravers actually have options for their weekend.

The weekender that was supposed to happen earlier this year was cancelled because of the local council putting a restriction on sound levels in the area so HTID cancelled because they didn't want to put on an event that people would be disappointed with. Sure there was at least 1 other promoter (different genre) that done the exact same thing for the same reason so it wasn't down to low numbers.
Numbers were def down in Spain though.

I was at HTID NYE 12/13 in Birmingham and it was rammed, at least 2000 people there and there was also a hardcore heaven on the same night in Bournemouth which looked rammed from the photos. Still plenty of people into the music

roast, jungle fever etc.....mainly old skool events, which have packed out.

So in terms of the staement put forward by the original article.citing a fanazia pack ,this music is as strong
and a popular as it was from 91-93

Joey Riot wasn't happy this week having 2 of his gigs cancelled on him and only getting 1 deposit back.

Ok just checked his twitter and yea that sucks, especially since he missed out on a couple of sets this weekend due to food poisoning. Looks like he'll have to penny pinch it for another week.

or maybe he cancelled on the gigs due to being unwell?

I see he has since deleted the fb status about the cancelled gigs and deposit.

I was questioning what you were talking about at the beginning thinking you got it confused with this past weekend, but I double checked on his twitter and yea he had 2 gigs cancelled as of Monday for this coming weekend. One of them was cancelled because the whole event got cancelled. He didn't give a reason for the other. And this past weekend he had like 3 sets to play at Bionic (I think I read that right) but he had to cancel at the last minute because he started throwing up hours before his gigs.
