i really hope he releases the original vocal mix digitally at some point but being Hixxy, I doubt it.
who actually owns the vocal version. Hixxy or Vinylgroover?
Well i'm guessing hixxy, since he did the original and his 96 remix was out a year before vinylgroovers, and the 96 vocal mix on bonkers 1 is the best version imo

I remember reading there were some bad vibes when Vinylgroover made his version. I think he was well within his rights as it was a cover, not a bootleg or anything, and Hixxy did something similar back to him. Not sure how true this is, it were years since I heard anything about it so it's likely to be bollocks.

Live at adrenalin fusion 96', the hixxy tape starts with the tune and there is absolutely no scratching over the track like on the bonkers cd
check it:
I've never heard this! It sounds so strange to me, after listening to Bonkers so many times!

Vinylgroover can do a remix all he wants, but if he profits off of that remix, then it's an issue. Which is the reason why HHU took so long to get together because Darwin's remix of this track has to be approved by Hixxy for appearing on the album, and it's only appearing in the DJ mix instead of unmixed and dj friendly because that's what they can only get approval for.
So everyone is the rightful owner of whatever version they make, but if you're gonna profit off of it, Hixxy retains all rights, even the vocal version, and you should have to get approval from him for any commercial release. It's kind of like that I Go Crazy Elysium track. Even with vocals, it has to get approval from Scott Brown for any commercial release.

lol no
It's a decent remix and a totally different take on it, but there are far better versions. Darwin's is just immaculate, and hearing it live in Spain and Toronto was just incredible!
Also, I enjoyed this vocal version A LOT more than the original vocal version, and even the original instrumental version. One of the most uplifting tracks ever.

Don't forget that on Happy2bHardcore Chapter 6, Frolic used the Vinylgroover vocal remix but had it titled on the credits, "Hixxy-Toytown(2001 Remix)". So I wonder who got the royalties off that album!

Him and Moonshine, the label it was released on. It's Moonshine's responsibility to make sure they pay proper licensing fees/royalties to Hixxy for his track being released on the album. And I imagine that he did get something, as Hixxy had another of his tracks appear on the 7th edition of the series.

Well i'm guessing everything! since hixxy did the original track plus the vocal mix, so I take it is his track! so in other words he owns the track! like someone else has already mentioned

It's already bad enough here that you can't often hear much, just due to the fact the music is bass heavy and so fast. Can't imagine what it would be like with too much bass. Would be pointless surely.
