Taken from his facebook:
I have recently been doing a lot of thinking, And I have come to the conclusion that I have had enough with hardcore. It takes an extreme amount of effort & time to maintain multiple aliases in multiple genres but hardcore only seems to be full of negatives and not enough enjoyment for me any more to want to spend 7 days a week in the studio producing it. let alone taking time away from the Rocket Pimp projects which is what i have wanted to focus on for a while.
I always said from day one. If I was not enjoying something then I wouldn?t milk it and continue because it is false! and nothing should be forced...
Which means I wont be doing any future Modulate bookings or new hardcore material from this day forth. Apologies to anyone who was looking forward to the sets/music but I don?t want to do something half heartedly for the sake of it and hopefully that can be respected.
Cheers

Fcuk me, someone who finally quits Hardcore bu saying his tired of it instead of "oh I had a good run, but I got other stuff to do". He got my creds for it, and I should check his stuff out :P
Also, I didnt know Modulate was Rocket Pimp aswell (I guess it shows I didnt really like any of his stuff that much :( )

On one side, it's sad to hear that he takes a break from UKH and focus on his Rocket Pimp alias, on the other side, it's a good thing since he can carry futureworld to other genres, where ppl might get a taste for hardcore, if he plays some hc tunes from time to time.

The guys a technical wizard in the studio and engineers some of the best sounds i've heard in this genre. This is pretty evident through his Rocket pimp alias. I'm pretty sure he at least helped create that generic electro bassline that's in most of these modern day UK hardcore tunes. This is actually interesting as i'll be curious to see what the top guns create now.

Gifted producer. Unfortunately didn't have much of an impact on me.

What a shame. I felt like he was the better half of the Petruccio & Modulate duo.

Well that's a shame. Him and Petruccio made some pretty cool songs.
Some of it was pretty fun and cheesey too:
Dana Rayne - Make It On My Own (Modulate & Petruccio Mix)
Taya - Every Now & Then (Mike Modulate Remix)
I'll admit, I didn't really like their remix of You're Shining at first... but that song really hits the speakers hard and can be a lot of fun to listen to in the right mix / mood. How I feel about a lot of their/his work.

Where does it say that he is taking a break from it?
He's leaving UK hardcore. If he comes back, then you can change the time in between as taking a break.

That seems to be how it has worked before - "Im leaving forever" usually means "I'm not going to produce for 3 months or so", and I think he was implying that.

He didnt said it but i prefer "taking a break" from a genre than "a final goodbye" because you cant do that on a whim, even when you have achieved "much" within less time.
By saying "mah, too much negative shiet in the scene at the moment, i leave and wont do hc from now on" you decrease possibilities in your creativity on your own; what if you like to do a hc tune again? "I was bored, so i did this tune, but still dont come back" isnt that professional, specially when you are a rather famous dude.
And yeah, dys guessed right. We even have producers coming back after 2-10 years.
Never say never, specially when you are a producer/artist
