I found some of the comments pretty interesting, suggesting that the new style of hardcore has made it considerably more appealing to dnb fans. Can't say I'm overly surprised since that's more or less what Breeze et al. have been going for all along but it doesn't seem like great news for fans of the good old supersaw.

I still dont know who his comment is aimed at. Us or the DnB listeners who hate hardcore in general? Seriously, most of us here enjoy other electronic styles so it can't be us. Or is it because we dont like Breeze's Hardcore?

That isn't exactly a new style of mixing. People been doing that for ages. Actually Impish did a set like that which also had Reese - Voodoo Magic in there. Sure I heard that in breezes set. Didn't sound nowhere near as good though.

I remember Breeze mixing every other track being UK hardcore and dnb (or hardcore heavily influenced by dnb), and I thought it sounded like a mess. It could work if you know what the hell you're doing, and apparently when it comes to mixing, Breeze does not.
HU djs do a much better job at combining the two.
As far as that clip goes, it's ok, but there are noticeable trainwrecks.

Well, idk, Breeze seems happy and isn't that what's really important?
Only to him, but it shouldn't to us. Just because Breeze is happy, does that mean those that don't like his style of hardcore/dnb and mixing have to be sympathetic to him and endure and financially support the guy? This isn't like supporting a down-syndrome kid in the special olympics. If the people don't genuinely like his style of music, they should be vocal and active about their dislike for it, but at the same time being respectful and not a complete douche. That's what that side of hardcore does, they love to talk shit about those not in their crew but play the helpless victim when they get criticized for anything.

It's painful watching Breeze try to convince people that this style of Hardcore is cool or whatever. He seems to have it in his head that it's visionary or cutting edge or something, when we all know that's not what people ever got into Hardcore for in the first place anyway. He's appealing to a poser crowd when that's not what Hardcore is made up of.

I think Hardcore has attracted different crowds ever since it left jungle and became Happy Hardcore. The same after the big dip in late 99, early 2000 when it became more trance influenced. Later when it got more about minimal drops and electro influences in 2005. And now with drumstep ~2011
I can't say I have seen in with my own eyes, but the mouths of USH and here tells that story.

Besides, we all know that no style of hardcore is cool and it never will be. I think Breeze has a hard time coming to terms with that reality, bless him.
