Seeing how unpopular 'Dubcore' is with most people on here - I'm just curious to know what sort of hardcore people find themselves listening to the most these days. By this, I mean 'do you buy the CLXH albums and Futureworld (FW) releases because it's pretty much all that's on offer but prefer some of the older stuff'? Do you think the current dubcore sound is the best thing since sliced bread? Do you pretty much dismiss what goes on in the FW camp and only show an interest in labels like HU because you're more familiar with that kind of sound? Do you find yourselves listening to old Helter Skelter, United Dance and Dreamscape tapes and not much else? Do you no longer go to the events but still buy the CD packs?

I ask because, yesterday, I listened to Bonkers 4 (Dougal) and then HTID 2 (Squad-E) straight after. I've not disliked much (in hardcore) in the time between the two albums nor have I since the release of the latter. Having said that, I do find that I sway more towards the sounds of 98/99 - particularly VG and Seduction sets - and wondered what you guys were most fond of. Additionally, I do like the FW and CLXH stuff, but I've not bought a (HTID/RB/Uproar) CD pack in over a year and a half.

I would say my mixes shows what I listen to or like during the time I made them. Ever since I started liking Makina I've started to like more than just Happy/UK Hardcore and Freeform

I pre-ordered the HU6/This is Power Stomp CDs, looking forward to both. In terms of other CDs and what not, I listen to other DJs mixes. They're free and contain many good tunes as well. Plus they're so varied I hear stuff I never heard.

I let Juno/Trackitdown spam me with mail with new releases. I listen to samples, and buy what I like. Regardless of label or artists, if it sounds cool then SOLD.

Also, I follow artists on Soundcloud and listen to what they're releasing / going to release.

So I find myself listening to the same ol same ol I have been for years. The new, the not so new, and the old (with an emphasis on vocals/happy/cheesey tunes cause that's just what I love the most).

And thanks to the efforts of members on here posting current/upcoming albums, I'm able to stay up to date. THANKS!

"Do you think the current dubcore sound is the best thing since sliced bread?"
I think its cool and a track or two in a mix can go in great.
Hardcore in all its forms is the best thing since sliced bread. Happy/Freeform/Jcore/Makina/Dubcore/whatevercore.

"Do you pretty much dismiss what goes on in the FW camp and only show an interest in labels like HU because you're more familiar with that kind of sound?"
Nope. Like I said, I let Juno spam me with new releases from whatever labels are releasing. I'll take a listen to it.

I don't like stuff that obviously tries too hard to be a particular thing - unless it's supposed to be a parody. ;)

Other than that, I pretty much love it all - whether it's the "new" snare-heavy sound, the "old" UK hardcore sound, or the "older" big kick or happy hardcore sound. Or breakbeat. Or freeform. Or makina. It's all good.

For me, it's melodic Hardcore, but I'm really digging the hard kick in Hardcore.
Since there's not much hard-kick-melodic Hardcore about, I'm having to make it.

I find myself listening a span of CDs ranging from 1995-2010 Happy/UK Hardcore. I have HU 5, and I'm ordering HU 6, but ya...it's just too unorganized on Trackitdown to surf through everything.
