Shame you don't like it, I love it! People do either love or hate it though, weird. Same as Good Life, do some people hate that too?

It seems like it's a track everyone are clearly liking or hating. I haven't seen someone say it's ok or something like that.

Based on the sound, I would believe it's Gammer. To be honest I still think he made Nostalgia and We Killed the Rave just because of the haters :P

Oooops, obviously the positive spin I attempted to put on each award has been lost.

As suggested it might be more appropriate to change 'worst track of the year' to 'most overrated track of the year.'

1. Most overrated track of the year - Darren Styles & Gammer - Paranoia.

The riff goes down quite well in a rave but ive quickly become quite bored of it. I find the kick off poor because it doesn't kick in with the 4/4 beat for the first bar. Jist kills all the momentum for me and there just isn't really much about the track tbh.

2. The most disappointing drop of the year - Eufeion & Patch - Move To The Music

This was the easiest decision by far. I remember hearing this track for the first time. During the breakdown I was like 'yessss!!!' Hugely powerful riff and then..... just... just... a shocking drop. The whole track just stops still. It might as well just end. I bought it and edited the second drop onto the first build. Infinitely improved.

3. Most disappointing producer of the year - Douglas

This guy blew me away around 2 years ago. He took freeform by the scruff of the neck and reinvented it with his own powerful sound. I couldn't big him up enough. Since then, nothing has really changed. His sound hasn't evolved much and ive become bored of many of the tracks. Solas An Lae and FM-200 blew me.away at the time. Ha'way Douglas!!!

4. Biggest bitch of the year - HHC.com users ;)

5. Most overrated producer of the year - Mob

This guy has recieved so many plaudits and has seen a meteoric rise in the scene straight to the main stages and has even performed on Westfest main stage (how!!!!!). He is billed as huge musical talent but im yet to hear it tbh. Not one of his tracks has ever wowed me. What am I missing?

I could have picked Klubfiller for this too. He seems to have just fast tracked straight to the top of the scene. For what reason?

6. Outstanding Contribution - in light of recent events, ill go for Keyes.

Not sure how warrented that is but he makes me a little uneasy in general.

I agree with your assessment of Mob, claxton. How he is viewed as a great musical talent is beyond me. Haven't heard any of his tunes that are better than mediocre.
Although I quite like klubfiller. The guy markets himself very well and is capable of producing some great tracks. Although his best tracks are usually collabs to be fair. What I don't like about Klubfiller is his constant bootlegging of tracks and merging tracks, sounds very lame in his sets. Also the begging for votes at the awards gets on my nerves. You're right about him being fast tracked to the very top. Think he's benefitted greatly from the whole Sy and storm saga, as his new partnership with MC storm is the main reason he's getting all the best sets imo.

Gammer is the best thing that's happened to hardcore music over the last 10 years.

I can't deny that he's a fantastic producer and has talent in abundance, but I think for the past 18 months, he's wasted a lot of his ability. I keep coming back to the question; if he's a producer with the talent to produce a track like 'Ambient Angels', why is he making stuff like 'Burn' or that Pure Fish track? It's something that's increasingly frustrating to watch.

I agree that Gammer was at one point the best thing to happen to hardcore in some time but the last few years have been dire by his standards. The last couple of years with all the electro rubbbish and even the rest he's made hasn't stood up to all the stuff he did with Dougal.

He is on and off and yeah those 2 tracks are awful but this is the same man that made Insane Asylum remix, Good Life, Missing remix and others. Not every tune is gonna be to everyone's taste, but in general I think he's the greatest hardcore producer out there. Anyone that has equal respect from the cheesy lot as the freeform lot gets my vote, the man is a genius.

The best things he's ever made are freefom though, 34m, Ambient Angels and Insane Asylum remix.

Add 'Unforgettable Hope' to that list. Then there's his non freeform stuff like 'A New Feeling' and 'N+'.

That isn't even mentioning his countless brilliant collabs with Dougal and G Spencer.

I actually think some of his best tracks of more recent times have been his collabs with Marc Smith: Building Shaker, Crank, Relentless Hardcore. It's such a shame that he never plays these tracks out, as is the case with much of his best work.
