I've known that Slammin' Vinyl and Sidewinder Events (runners of HTID) had fingers in other pies (for example drum n bass), but I didn't realise the extent to which they did until tonight.
I was doing a bit of research (browsing the net) and I found the following out. Many of you may already know all of this but for some of you it will be news.
So, HTID and Hardcore Heaven have been the major forces in hardcore over the last 10 years or so with regards to events, agreed?
Even now, except for a couple of other events coming through like 'Ravers Are', they still pretty much dominate the large events scene.
Sidewinder events had 4 different events on NYE. These were:
- HTID vs Dreamscape (Birmingham) 1800 attended.
- HTID (Southampton) 800 attended.
- Random Concept (drum n bass - Northampton) 1700 attended
- Sidewinder (bassline & garage - Leicester) 2700 attended
So overall, Sidewinder have the following brands...
Hardcore - HTID, Uproar, Raver Baby
Drum n Bass - Random Concept, Sub Rockerz
Bassline/Garage - Sidewinder
----------------------------------------------
Slammin' Vinyl own the following brands...
Hardcore - Hardcore Heaven
Drum n Bass - One Nation
Hardstyle - Bionic
+ maybe more I'm unaware of.
---------------------------------------------
Basically the gist of what I'm getting at is that these companies are huge event promoters with huge turnovers, and not just small time companies with one or two staff members.
I always thought that HTID and Hardcore Heaven were at the centre, and kind of the main focus but infact they're just small parts or portions of the overall companies.
So, what are Hixxy's and Mark Lambert's roles? Are they just in charge of HTID, Raver Baby and Uproar or are they major stake holders in the whole running of Sidewinder events?
If so, I bet there are a few more surprises like aliases I different genres that I wasn't aware of.
I guess there isn't much point in this thread except to share what I have found out (and excuse my naivety), but it may intrigue a few others on here.....
Thoughts....

Mark Lambert is the main man behind Sidewinder Events LTD, Hixxy is only involved In HTID.
I used to deal with them alot running coaches from Scotland years ago.
I don't think Bionic is a brand of Slammin though, at least I didnt think so.
Ravers Are is gone now I think aswell

Was Sidewinder something to do with Helter Skelter? (Or maybe vice versa?)

Bionic is owned by Cally & Juice, not Slammin, however they do work together a lot.
Slammin also runs United Dance, there used to be UD parties (UD was owned by Chris Brown aka Eruption) but the last few years its just been an old skool room brand at things like Westfest.
From memory, back in 2000 ish Skelter was bought (or somehow went to) Sidewinder Events. Sidewinder was always Northampton based and was something to do with DJs Principal, Dollar etc. Sidewinder had their garage events from 99/00 onwards but acquired Skelter events and out of that the D&B event Accelerated Culture was born in 2001. The rest is history!

Yeah Lambert posted up a massive thankyou to all the ravers, artists and workers with the attendance over facebook from NYE.
To confirm Lamberts company is 'Sidewinder' under the company name he runs HTID, Uproar, Raverbaby, Random Concept, Subrockerz and Sidewinder which is a legal tax paying company ( which is rare in our scene!)
Contrary to peoples thought theres not much of a turn over once all the fees have been paid out these include - venue, staff, djs, mcs, lighting, sound engineering, equipment hire, flyers & advertisement, licencing etc . He never does cut backs on production or artists like some events do even when he is aware an event may lose money, i really respect that to the fullest.
People don't realise how hard running large scale events can be and how much organisation goes behind the scenes when there is only a few people who put together the events including Lambert and Steve HTID
They do an amazing job and having both played and worked for Lambert over the years, his professionalism and love for the scene has only made me respect him and the Sidewinder branding.
The same goes for Grant over at Slammin Vinyl. He has always been extremely professional on every level and there is no wonder why these two brands are at top of their league.
Sidewinder Events also run:-

Why did I think DJ Seduction owned Uproar? what happened with that the way it seems to change into the a sidewinder company did he just give it up when he retired or was it never his and when did Hixxy sell HTID & RB or did he never own it from the start. Whatever happened to the Raverbaby events? and whats the real reasons HTID & HH dont do NYE events together anymore?

Seduction sold the brand to Sidewinder (i think)
Hixxy always at least co-owned those brands with Mark, with Mark managing the bigger picture in general.
Like all things, Raverbaby events are stipulation to demand, of which i'm not sure there is enough.
Those guys did events in the NEC together, of which those brands haven't got the numbers to fill anymore. They also tried one in the rainbow warehouse which was supposedly a disaster. Essentially it's an unknown reason as to why they don't combine; probably something to do with money.

It's entirely possible that sidewinder are just the event company that are licensed for some of those events. It doesn't mean they OWN those companies. It's actually pretty likely that you'd outsource events to an established events company if you were concentrating on other things (like club gigs and as a record label). I'm not saying that's how it is, i'm just saying it's a possibility.
Also LOL at <2000 people being 'large scale' events. These are on the low end of medium-sized at best. Quite a few clubs here hold more than that. Large scale is the 40,000+ you see at festivals. Semantics but meh.

Yes but in the UK Hardcore scene they're large events. The majority of raves attract no more than a couple of hundred people.
