Can't see this style making a come back tbh.
it needs to or "uk hardcore" is finished the style that's being pushed right now isn't working
UK Hardcore has had its day. The crowed that it was 'aimed' at grew up and got bored of it while the new crowd have gone towards Dubstep and Electro while 'UK Hardcore' or Upfront as we used to call it is just last decade's fad. Freeform is still going around and the Dutch still have their Gabber but the so called 'Old Skool' is not really Old Skool now, it is being re invented at last
each to their own but i agree at least back in the 90s hardcore had its own identity. alot of UK hardcore stuff now is just speeded up trance or whatever & imo it sounds way too polished anyways, uno like it isint raw anymore. hardcore should be just that hard, sure cheese is good imo but at least make the beats hard & it sound like hardcore not trance or whatever (only faster)
well now it's more like sped up electro house, which like you said is too polished. The beats aren't hard, the snare drums are bigger than the kicks, and a lot of tunes are forgettable.
if they brought back the bouncy techno/happy hardcore sound with moder production styles it would make a big change in how people veiw them i think they might even regain a bit respect i don't know how they can like this or even dare call it hardcore for that matter maybe it's all part of a bigger plane to make sure the scene is still here 10 years from now if not then breeze and all his cronies should just retire or piss of and ruin another scene n never come back
the hard needs to be brought back into hardcore
well it's not all bad, It's just starting to really loose direction. I honestly don't think the 90s style will be coming back in any way, new production or not. Once music evolves it never really devolves. Sure you can make old school sounding music and it will cater to the nostalgic crowd, but it will never catch on to the scene in general.

hmmmm... i gave this tune a try today and only liked the intro/first min where it rly sounded like oldschool hardcore. the rest is nothing special. for now, i am in the nightcore camp (and still listeing to clubland xtreme 6 and 7, true hardcore 2, xclusive happy hardcore and true hardcore its a way of life)
the new stuff is nothing for me. i rather see myself ebaying another few old hardcore tapes before spending a single cent on the newer stuff.

Today Hardcore is just only simply running behind the latest fashion, although I even think these influences already became old-fashioned. To my opinion the best sound of Hardcore was when it sounded unique and didn't try to simply copy the latest fashion within electronic music.

Yeah that would be great idea - 90s happy sound with modern production. This has been done though and worked well probably 10 years ago now by the likes of Gammer, Seduction, Darren Styles.

Yeah you're right and most producers had their own unique and recognisable style.

At the very least, hardcore used to take influences from other genres and incorporate it whilst retaining identity. It would be a stretch to say this is true of late.
There is absolutely no F**ing way people should still be moaning about this in 2 months time.
HHU. Win. Actually Win. Faith can be rewarded. There's a reason it took so long.

Oh they will!!!
This is why I don't waste my breath on such arguments because most of the people on here who bitch and cry and whine about the current direction never go out to an event or even buy current albums anymore, even if it is an all-oldskool event or oldskool album. They bitch for the sake of bitching.

music can go back look at new skool breaks/breakbeat hardcore or whatever you wanna call it. although the endless remixes of 92-93 old skool tunes got boring fast, alot of good stuff came out of it

the only albums i buy are the HU or anything from MOH just ordered empire of eternity it looks amazing started looking for a lot of old skool compilations also i like to take influences from the big names and turn it into something that fits my style havn't really been able to do that over the last few years
as for going to events most are either too far away or if i find one near me by the time i can afford to go to an event i can't afford to actually get there lol and nobody i know likes hardcore so i don't really fancy going myself although i did go to an rave in rosyth at xmas (that's only 10 minits away from where i live tho)

I only seem to have this one on Soundcloud at the minute, I'll find the others on my other PC later, might even do another one.
like it on the whole but has that bouncy element missing imo. still is something id play tho
