If you don't know yet, I promote hardcore on my YouTube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/jordesuvi
I need to kick my channel into the next gear. Since other channels get their subscribers through promoting mainstream/popular genres or because they promote nightcore (or because they have girl in their username) it can be a struggle for popularity to increase when you're promoting a genre that's still struggling a little itself.
I've been thinking of ways to increase channel popularity (and hardcore's popularity) and I'm at a bit of a loss. Was just wondering if this forum had any ideas?

You could always try the hot chick on the thumbnail trick

Yeah seriously just put cleavage pictures as all the thumbnails. Why do you think those "best of vines" have millions of hits.

I'll broaden my statement, I don't want to resort to anything related to nudity and want honest subscribers that are there (mainly) for the music.

Well aside from that you can post on forums and sites , share your stuff around facebook, tumblr, etc etc... you could always go to local radio stations in your area and ask them to give your channel a shout out on the air, they will usually do it for free if its a one time thing.

I've had this problem, and it's something that takes a lot of time (and sometimes money by commissioning people for FX or animation) to do.
One thing I've liked about your channel is the guest mixes. That was a nice feature. Perhaps having a themed mix series would catch on?
Alternatively, you run a channel that brings Hardcore to people, you could run a weekly series sampling your top 5 tracks from producers around the scene (of any Hardcore related genre).
Maybe a 'You Pick, I play' series where you ask Facebook or Twitter fans what tracks they'd liked to hear. You hear what they say, seek permissions and upload. It engages fans on other networks as well as Youtube.

This interested me, I may play around with this idea

well, you could resort to more "ecchi" (but not blatant hentai) pics on some videos (where the picture would fit the song)
I'm not 100% sure but if you want to be correct, ecchi is actually worse, as hentai just means pervert, and ecchi actually refers to the act of sexuality :P

I think the best way is to have something that people actually want to see. What's the point in a popular channel that doesn't actually have any really interesting content. So basically what Elipton said. Do something unique that people can't get by clicking on a 100 other channels.
