He still occasionally makes proper-speed hardcore but typically doesn't release it on EMFA. This one is actually my favorite track he's put out all year. http://www.beatport.com/release/the-fix-s3rl-remix/1421607

nice to see he is making an effort i was not aware of that nice find :) don't think that's on his soundcloud. i just don't get how it's a good idea when the vast majority of fans honestly despise it; but he carries on? goes for any dj honestly. the only people who do enjoy it are people who have never heard S3rl before and don't know what to expect so they dig it. how is that good feedback; seems embarrassing to me... screw the fans that got you where you are and have followed you through ! ** looking through my feed i actually have a few interesting friends who repost it saying it's good JUST because it is s3rl. did they even listen to it lol. same people who bitched me out for hating on Gammer at htid ( who's set i thought was sub par compared to the others) . screw fanboys the bandwagon sure is fun to jump on !

Mate that is a bit harsh your being on Futureworld Recordings. While I don't like S3RLS new track you linked. Futureworld Recordings has some of the best producers in the scene and added a fresh alternative to the same old cheesy shite dated trance riffs been put out by all those down under producers. Time to move with the times. Is no longer 2005. Time to try new things!! If hardcore ever wants to gain a following from the young generation of ravers in their late teens. It has to stay relevant and using EDM, Big Room and Hardstyle elements in productions to make the music fresh again is what is being done. Hats off to all the producers making the fresh hardcore sounds. Your the only ones I support!!

futureworld definitely has good producers who have produced good music and know how to produce good music ... but i don't feel they have applied those talents to nearly anything :/. from an emotional perspective personally using big room house or hardstyle speed/sounds to make "hardcore" does absolutely nothing for me. its almost the antithesis of hardcore honestly i suppose if evolving the scene means losing tons of fans to gain more fans hats off to them all i think it's more about what is going to make them more money and keep them relevant than what their fans want to hear... thats what i see from futureworld atleast :p i see lots of j core/makina/ tribekore evolving the hardcore sound for real though was surprised the magic chord stuff did not get better feedback; i think most of it is quite good.

All that Trancey Stuff alot of you guys like is not even the real Hardcore sound. The stuff Seduction, Slipmatt and Hixxy were doing in the 90s is the only True hardcore. To most people 13 years of the same Trance sound being done in UK Hardcore has made the scene extremely stale and plain boring!!!. Is time for a change and I am glad more producers and djs are realising this and moving towards new genre production techniques done in EDM House and Hardstyle. You look at House music how it is constantly changing with fresh ideas. Hardcore should be doing the same to keep new party generations interested. If it does'nt it will be stuck in the past with only a few traditional fans.

Rafferty is somewhat correct here.
However I wouldn't go as far as to say there is a "true hardcore sound". It's just the roots of what the genre is based on.
Naturally I still enjoy the trance-influenced/melodic UK Hardcore sound but since it has been done for so long I can totally understand why someone else could get bored of it.
Right now I feel it can be hard for the genre to adapt and somehow break its way into a sort of mainstream culture since some of the Futureworld releases to me sound like nightcored big room/electro house. Whilst it will appeal to some of the younger generation, I'm not entirely sure if that is the way forward.
I can't help but feel like Rhythmics and nanobii are the breakthrough artists. They're both talented producers and they've both seen releases from Monstercat. In my experience, they've quite the open minded community.
Last time I checked Rainbow Road was on its way to one million soundcloud plays and was even featured in one of PewDiePie's videos..

I like it how you say stuff like this, yet you complain about japanese hardcore? If anything, they are closer to late 90's Hardcore than UK Hardcore is

Never relly got the think with S3rl the only track I liked of his was 'Dealer'. As for sounds I think the Trance synths sound has had its day its a shame so many younger producers are using this sound and in many cases it just sounds cheap.
The key to any successful scene is variety but hardcore should always hold onto its roots as its what made it unique.

I don't like his new stuff. Not just because of the different tempo but because they aren't as catchy as they use to be. I know he's always focused on "cheesy" themes but lately he's been pushing it.
I wouldn't really call his new material "BIG ROOM" more like slowed down nightcore?!?!?!?!
Anyways I think S3RL's best productions were before EMFA. Tracks like "Neon-Genesis", "S.L.U.T.", "Weekend Has Come" and "The Second Wave" are some of the best tunes he's produced in my opinion.

Yes those are two of my favorite s3rl tracks. I have S.L.U.T. and I'm about to buy Second Wave. It took me a while to find the original mix though since the original is "The 2nd Wave" and the Pulse Remix is "The Second Wave." I kept searching for the latter and nothing came up.
