I liked ff8 as I've said, bt then the series just seemed to go off the boil, and then it moved to ps2 (bleh!) so thats the last I saw of it. The xbox sadly is an RPG free zone, but there's some promising titles on the way so not all hope is lost :)

I love fps games coz I've just grown up on them. I used to play quake 2 eight hours a day, practicing hours and hours on end - even now in the faster paced fps games I cn give my friends a good kicking. I enjoy the challange and the multiplayer aspect is rather enjoyable :)

I like games that get you fully engrossed in virtual environment, especially ones that have well-written storylines. I find fantasy RPG's to be good for this, and some first-person action games aren't bad either (eg the Syphon Filter series on PS).

Not alot now, used to when I was about 12. I was mad on the Monkey Island series (but that's more of a point and click). The only RPGs I used to play were on emulators of the SNES (The old Final Fantasy and Chronotriger).

I Don't play video games much now, I work 35 hours a week with really unsociable hours and in my spare time I'm on here or my turntables.

When I do get the chance I'm usually on Resident Evil, Tomb Raider (I love the first game, i don't care how old it is!) and Gran Turismo.

Dave!

for some reason i just had flashbacks of playing doom online listening to hardcore
*sniff* i miss my youth =P

medal of honor frontline is pimp, i love games that go in depth with trying to make the environment as real as possible...that and the fact i'm a big history buff makes the game extremely enjoyable for me

has anyone picked up the getaway? i was thinking about renting it and was wondering what others felt about it...

The getaway is class mate .
however I may be a little biased as people in this country have been waiting a long time for a GTA styles game to come out set in london .
If you liked the GTA's then this is a must buy .

Same here! Even though I'm only 18 I still miss the lack of responsibilities when I was like 12 (i.e playing on playstation rather than doing maths homework and not having much affect after all!)

Does anyone know of any serious games (besides Metroid Prime) coming out soon on Gamecube? It's a brilliant system let down by the fact that only a few of it's games are worth the time (ET, MP, LOZ:WW). Don't diss the cube!

Yeah mate look out for these titles on the cube:

"Geist", "Alias", "True Crime", "The Suffering", Resident Evil 4", "Star Wars Rogue Squadren Leader III", "Hitman 2", "Starcraft", "Teminator 3", "Matrix", "Rogue Ops".

There's probebly loads more but I can't think of them at the moment......There is by the way a Metroid Prime Sequal being made for the cube, which is good news .

But I agree with you don't diss the cube......for me Eternal Darkness, is the best console game I've ever played, and contained some great originality, in the Sanity effects.....great game-play of course aswell imo .
