When you DJ does the mood you're in reflect on the resultant set?

not when i'm live and i have a set planned,i'm always in a happy vibe when i'm live anyways. however when it comes to the bedroom and i want to have a mix then yeh my mood affects my set. and it's not just with dj-ing too,it's with cd's or tapes in the car.

kind of, it also depends on the group of people that i'm playing to...but for some reason i always seem to end sets upwards of 220 =P

i suppose it does matter cos when your not in the greatest of moods, i play really hard and depressing stuff, sorta gabber style, but when in a good mood, i play really boucy happy tunes :)

It's hard not to let your emotions influence your set. Once I had this argument with this other promoter outside the parte I( and a few of my friends) were putting on. That got me a bit upset, but, when I played my set afterwards I put that out of my mind. I try to concentrate on the vibe of the room.

^^^ I see it in my friend, Matthew (alias Mataveli on the forums) he plays out in a club twice a week one Thursdays and Saturday nights. When people tell him to play more his sets get better and better.

My mood has influenced my aets before. I went to a gig a few months back with every intention of playing an old skool set. I got into a fight with my girlfriend on the way to the party and ended up dropping a jackhammer style speedcore set on 'em.

I find sets are more influenced by the room I'm in, or by what the DJs before me were playing... like, if the guy before was all fluffy and peaceful, I'm not going to drop pounding dark beats on the crowd, I'm gonna go with the flow and keep the feelings going.
