Does any1 starting to think that hardcore is losing the happy bit to it. The older tunes seem to be more happy hardcore as the new tunes seem to be hardcore and in some cases sounding alot little trance ???Thats just what i am starting to think i probaly wrong knowing me

nope, it's still there...just not as prominant as it used to be which imo is a good thing. in order for a genere to survive it needs a little variation...

Happy hardcore has only survived for so long with such limited (compared to other genres) support because it has evolved over the years. That's not to say that it's now unrecognisable - many of the features that made HH what it was (and still is) are still around but just in a different form. True, there are more 'trancy' tunes out there but there are still some storming happy tunes around.
For example -
Dougal & Gammer - 'Get Hype'
UFO - 'Breaka' - You Don't get much happier than that!
Anything by Breeze & Styles - Perhaps a touch more serious but never did Force & Styles any harm did it?
I can remember a time (not so long ago) when hardcore was as good as dead so now, as i see a massive increase in interest for the music, we should only look forward to the future - not live on past glories.

Have to agree with Brian. Progression is the key to survival. It may not be as super happy and cheesy as it once was, but the vibe is still there IMHO.

i think iys sad that hardcore is losing its happy cos thats wat makes it different from thr rest! there are still some happy hardcore tunes being made, like if thats alright with u (quosh) and iv heard vibes is makin some new tunes, so thatl b wkd if he does, and seductions back on the scene!! i dont think hardcore should change just to make the majority like it, but hang in there, some new happy tunes r cummin out!! i do like sum of the new stuf like ur shining for eg, but it aint HAPPY hardcore!!!

There's still a lot of happy sounding stuff around....you just have to check the right artists.....immediatly "Stompy" springs to mind for good "Happy Hardcore" in today's scene .

It still has it's happy, uplifting vibe to it but I think the older tunes provide a happier vibe.

The scene needs different emphasis every now and the. Some times Happy then sometimes Hardcore. I remember in the Old Skool days I went to Universe 93 and the Hardcore tent didn't play one Happy Track all night. Oh...except 'On a ragga tip' which was hardly Piano. I had just got seriously in to raving and was disappointed cos the tent was over an acre large. Still the 'Techno' tent as it was known then was F**KIN Bangin!! Totally uplifting hard and buzzing. I guess what I mean to say is for now its Trancey and Hard but sooner or later the Happy and Cheese (which I define as different) will be
Back.

I've always disliked Happy Hardcore tunes. In my opinion Hardcore starting getting good at the start of the 2000's. Anything before that was utter cheese crap. I like it how dj's are making Hardcore more trancy. Why don't more of you people call it TranceCore?
