Just the physical records, not the choonage.
I've noticed my Eplus records are heavier and thicker and my older evo's.
Just a note.
If the record is heavier, isn't it a) more expensive and b) better for scratching?

I never notice any real difference, i'll have to go back home and have a look at it. I know I do have Now is the Time '96 remixes which is a lightwait vinyl and is very easy to scratch.

i thought they're easier to scratch then they're lighter?? more movement!? but yes i think it is more expensive to produce and less likely to warp.
naturally the new records are going to be thicker (therefore better) than the old records, because they're newer (more money, better technology etc)...

I never thought technology really affected the pressing of vinyl.
But my friend has some phatt bboy breaks that are on some pretty thick/heavy vinyl.
My reason why heavier is better for scratching, is that I don't think (at least in my psychotic fits of scratching) it bounces as much, though I could be [Arnie's voice] Dead wrong [/Arnie's voice]

There are a lot of people who would go into seizures at reading the words "vinyl" and "technology" in the same sentence =P

^ you could say that about a lot of things
i agree with rygor, this vinyl seems to skip a lot easier than thicker vinyl, though with the thicker vinyl you lose some movability

thicker vinyls are annoying cuz they stop my platter spinning when im cueing, but rock becuz they heavier and probly warp less. goddamn delirium vnyl so thin it spinned at the slightest touch, until it wa\rped cuz it was in the sun for about three hours. goddamn awful. damn damn damn. awful.

The thicker - the deeper the record groove - the better the sound quality.
