He makes a compelling case that hardcore (or, at least, TWR's watered-down version of hardcore) is getting more mainstream exposure than it has for a long time. But I don't think anyone would argue with that. My problem (and I suspect I'm not alone in this) is that I don't care if this new sound achieves mainstream success. It's nothing like the genre I fell in love with so why do I give a shit what happens to it?
The TWR crew made hardcore popular by completely changing the nature of hardcore. That's a pyrrhic victory if ever there was one. All the popularity in the world won't make me love Gammer's music like I used to.

Back in the day when it was happy hardcore, Helter skelter used to print a slogan on the back of tape packs and the like i can't bloody remember it. Something to do with never sacrificing quality for the majority or something like that. Ie we won't waterdown what we do to make it more popular etc. I wish i could find that saying.
Edited to add: Oh and i have no idea who any of those A-listers are beyond gareth emery and i only know him for a couple of tracks.

making shit cheesie music does`nt make it popular, there are 100s more hardstyle and hardcore events, then a few mainstream events
if you add uk hardcore and your j-core, it would be litterally 100s

I have to agree. It's great if they start to listen to more Hardcore (and the various styles), but it doesnt take away the fact that they are just playing "hardcorified" music of what's popular in the clubs.
Also, a swede gets better recognition than actual british artists? :P

going from 10 -> 20 big events a year listed on q-dance and art of dance pre 2010, then it went to 2 or 3 events listed = hardstyle died
hardcore events started filling up event pages, in the real world, big events can`t happen without all the club nights week in and week out
so if your going to compare hardstyle to what it was, you can say it died, if that many clubs nights disappeared for all those big events to go

he talks about it like he is a part of it.
instead he should be hanging out with these guys; and marketing music to the same crowd
** "And I believe it. Its an awkward BPM and a nightmare for producers and DJs everywhere. But theres no denying that when the drop comes in, people just stop taking everything so seriously and end up enjoying themselves. Let me throw this quote in for the third time:- Seriously, we?ve never seen a group of people look so happy?even the security guard was finding it hard to keep his feet still "
cool.. make it then mother****er!
