you'll find it far easier if you can practise with no one else around. i can mix pretty competently about 90% of the time (some days it just WONT FUKKIN WORK!!!) but when im in a room with more than two other people an i know theyre listenin its more often than not goes to helll and i give up after three attempts. id recommend gettin th e basics down on your own then learn to deal with background noise.

also when adjusting the record touch it very lightly, very very lightly, almost faintly drag your finger across the record, no point pushing the vinyl so hard the record stops for a split second, or jumps ahead half a beat.

I agree with Broken's advice - I just can't slow or speed a record to match the beats, I have to recue totally. I should learn how to slow effectivly - recueing takes so long I can usually only just match a song in time.

It used to take me a while but now i can get em pretty much matched within a matter of 16 beats. You need to learn how to adjust when the tunes is playing though otherwise how you gonna correct a mix if it starts to go wrong?
