What got me in to hardcore is not what I'm buying on vinyl every week now.

When I started I loved all the older cheese - eyeopener, 'till we meet again, techno wonder land, *that* heart of gold, shooting star etc etc

I own all of those now, after longing for them year after year before I knew what hardcore was. They *were* great. But the production on the new stuff blows me away, and frankly some of my old (still treasured) vinyl's sound awful side by side to the new stuff.

I remeber clearly the first time I hear 'new' hardcore.. I remeber thinking how awful it was.. I thought I'd just have to live off old represses. I remeber HATING techno rocker when I first heard it . . . now I own it and love it.

It took me a while to adjust, but the new stuff is amazing, and some of the old stuff is still great.

oh i do agree wit the fact thqat happy hardcore is cumin popular again
(cuz it is)

No offense intended, mate, but you gotta start typing in real english. It's damn close to impossible to read through your replies.

The point that hardcore ain't what it used to be is valid, but hell, what it is now is -better-. We've got some of the most cutting-edge music, with the freshest sounds and the best vibe in all of electronica. We're experiencing a hardcore rennisance of new artists, old artists churning out choons in new styles, tons of new labels and tons more ravers!

WHAT ELSE COULD YOU WANT?

If trading in my juno for a virus and a reverb module suddenly makes me a traitor to hardcore, I'm quite sorry. But I like things just as they are ;)

Happy Hardcore has changed a lot from the past. Its now very trancy and dark. I aint sayin there's anythin wrong with it coz I like the modern stuff more than the older stuff.
But I wonder when HH changed from old to modern?

Worse thing is, I actually understood that no problem!!!

And yes, there is a language called English that you might want to try and learn as Kaffine suggested. From my experience it takes just as long to type that way as doing it properly! (Not because i'm thick before you say anything)!

I know i've had my say in this topic already but there's a definite theme here.
People are basically saying 'the old stuff IS great but the newer Hardcore has just as much right to be around as anything else'.

Every day, I get more and more impressed with the new styles of Hardcore and as one who remembers the old scene it's hard not to be excited about where it's heading again.
If you don't like it, try doing a search for a site called www.i'monlyakidbutiliveinthepast.com
Good luck!

Oh, and Simon - don't think i'm letting that one go!!

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you
