lol. and of course the discourse devolves into a complete shit show. I called it. the "HTID usa family" page is a ****ing mess. angry ravers about where their dollars went.

Seriously though, people are starting to all show a genuine interest in who gets booked and for how much, i think it is going to have to all become way more upfront, everyone is starting to think they are not getting their money worth. exactly the kind of discussion i was looking for. how much a dj cost shouldnt be a huge secret, the public should be voting too.

Does it really matter how much a DJ gets paid? You pay an amount to go to a rave and that?s completely your choice. I don?t go to raves anymore but I can?t say Darren Styles earnings ever entered my thoughts when deciding whether or not to go to a rave. If he or anyone else is making fortunes then good on them for doing so out of something as enjoyable as making music and playing it live.

Oh it definitely does.

if we can get storm or technikore for cheaper than styles, styles should be eliminated. This should be open public discourse. Promoters need to stop assuming what the buyer wants, because clearly they are off the mark. Time to start asking us what we want for our money. suprises used to be nice, but there are not any nice suprises left in hardcore.

what if we can get 2 headliners for the price fo styles?

Hardcore is so small right now, people really want to spend their money wisely. that means not paying to watch styles and gammer pretend to play hardcore, again.

Styles can charge a decent fee because he is in high demand (probably, I actually don?t know anymore but this was always the case in the past). There are probably people who go just to see him, hence why he keeps getting booked and probably putting his price up.

If you don?t like the lineup then it?s a pretty simple choice really - don?t go! Promoters will look to change it if the numbers drop significantly. Other than that, your only option is to start running your own events.

I remember HTID used to do ?The ravers choice? events, which gave the crowd the opportunity to vote for their ideal lineup in the months running up to the event. I went to 2 of these events and, on both occasions, the lineup looked exactly the same as any other HTID event at the time - Just saying.

Not sure what i should take from this thread. Afaik there are 6 Producers AND DJs(!) booked. If they all play 1 h that is at least 6 h of music. And all of them could very easily play longer so you'll certainly get more.

Does Hardcores "salvation" lie in resurrecting more old guys? (no)
Do you rather have ~20 "Producers" playing 30 min sets so alle the names are on the flyers? (i hope not)
Do certain people just don't like Darren Styles(' music)? (maybe)

I'm sure they will have a sold out house and from that positive outcome might come bigger endeavors in the future. Everybody is free to spend money as they please. Hell, maybe it's time for another Promoter to step up and deliver the big Shows Hardcore is waiting for!

party is 7 - 2 . it will take atleast 1 hour to get inside. Dougal, Styles, s3rl, hixxy. 4 headliners. 2 dj's. 1 slot left for mystery. they had " ??????", but got rid of it. which really pissed people off, alot of Americans are flying across the country and thought things would be a little more enticing.

look at the HTID USA 2015 lineup. I think everyone had their hopes wayyyy too high this year, because of lack of communication. the party should be longer and they should get longer sets, but oh well.

you guys gotta understand, styles plays almost monthly. we are not spoiled over here. a hardcore show 90% of the time is someone on this lineup.

In all my years of hardcore raving i seen technikore once. thats ****ing unacceptable. i dont know one raver these days that would rather see gammer and styles over technikore. for 10 years, promoters have thought we wanted styles & gammer. over and over. thats not crazy to you?

From my understanding, the hardcore shows are always losing money over here. the best you can ask for is to break even. maybe why that is why the promoters hardly try. one day i hope i am in a position to try! I know my crew would book the hardest line up since 2008 :) .

I guess what kind of baffles me is that everybody could see how HTID in the Sun or HTID Genesis was handled but still seems surprised now. For me i am surprised that there is no Hardstyle producer booked. Or was that the one they booted?
