This might sound kinda n00b but what exactly is happyhardcore?
is it a music style? if so how do you define it?
or is it just the name of this site?

Don't listen to Chiz, he has no idea what he's talking about.
If this helps at all:
Happy Hardcore : Until recently, at the base of every Happy Hardcore track was a breakbeat - a fast, complex, flowing, synthesised drumbeat. The drums used do not sound like real drums and are not meant to. There is always a bass drum, usually distorted, every beat (4 beats to the bar, hence Happy Hardcore's alternative name of 4-beat).
There can be pianos, strings, stab patterns (sequences of quite hard synthy sounds), uplifiting female vocals, bass (anything from an acid squelch to a deep rumbling sine wave), etc. Most Happy Hardcore tracks are around 160 to 180bpm, but 175bpm seems to be the most common speed.
Hardcore : Hardcore was the term that was given to the Hardest form of Dance or Hip Hop music back in the late 80's.
It is a term that is now starting to be used for Punk/Rock. Which is why some of us are starting to call our favorite music "Hardcore Dance" instead.
But to those of us who remember, Hardcore was mostly Hip Hop or House tracks which had a Breakbeat rather than the 4 beat that we hear today and was given a harder sound than other styles that where used back then.
Later it evolved and started to become more synths and rougher breakbeats with female vocals apearing more frequently than before.
Later it split into two catagories Happy Hardcore and Drum n Bass (Jungle).
Years later Happy Hardcore started to use a 4 beat along with breakbeats (borrowing from the dutch Gabba and Scottish Bouncy Techno).
Newer forms of Hardcore have appeared over the years.
Hardcore Dance : Hardest form of dance music. With sub genres Happy Hardcore, Hardcore Techno, Gabba or Gabber, Trancecore, Freeform, Bouncy Techno, Breakbeat, Spanish Hardcore, Makina and Drum n
Bass

The older generation here associates hardcore with pornography, therefore you get a lot of odd looks if you proclaim to any extent that you 'enjoy hardcore very much.'

Sexcore is a genre made known by Ron D Core. It's like hardcore-tekno or gabber with sounds from pornmovies. And around here hardcore just means what you guyz call Gabber. !GABBER 4 LIFE!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
"A genre of electronic music that stems from old skool breakbeat hardcore. Typically has a stomping 4x4 kick drum, crazy synth lines, a breakbeat (sometimes), and pitched up vocals."
Taken from www.urbandictionary.com
Also, hardcore is ever evolving, listen to stuff from the early 90's then to the stuff you hear today, and its a huge difference.
When I post, i shoud really be sleeping.
