You can't expect everyone else to do work for you... You can pickup sample CD's real cheap, search the internet or buy some equipment :)

Best way I've discovered (thanks to Oli mostly) is to steal 'em off vinyl! If you can get 'em clean enough it works really nice, a tad of filtering, compression and effects and you got yourself a whole new sound. :) Something that works really good for sweeps it to set up a synth playing a random waveform to generate white noise, low/highpass filter it while tweaking the resonance and increasing/decreasing the cutoff! Other things that work nice are single-hits on synths reversed (for sweeps.) As for vocals, you're on your own. A nice place to pick 'em up though is the second-hand vinyl shop, find some acapella, gospel, hip-hop, etc, and sample the vocals off them. You can get some quality sounds! Also seek out acapellas online. Crashes are simple, just search for 909 drum synth samples and download every crash you come across, that's all you'll need (except possibly a couple samples off the cr-78 which comes in handy for a more housy sound.)

All I know is that to me, you look like you're lots of fun, open up your loving arms - watch out here I come!

Sample theft is good!!
Everyone is guilty of sample theft. I try to make my stuff un stealable
Acapellas are also good, but sample clearance may present an issue.

^^^^ Sort the demo out with the pella, and then if you get some interest get a vocalist in and re-record the vocal/sample..... that way its a cover, and you don't have to faff about with mechanical copyright
