rafferty I've got like an area filled with old UK Hardcore 12's, some dating back to 1995 from friends who sold them to me when they moved on to other genres.
Just curious how many people out there have kept their old records or just thought fook it. I'll sell them all and go totally digital. I was thinking on going digital with my old music too. But the cost and work involved in searching for thousands of tracks online would be crazy. Also some people say all the old illegal bootlegs and remixs on Ravers Choice, VG tips, Who done it... Are almost impossible to find.
electrogen I still have all mine and i digitized them to disk so i now have them all on the pc.
Brian K just went to dvs myself, still keeping all my records though. My friend is going to rip and sell most of his collection.

although the more I play around with controlerism I want to rip most of mine as well =P

I did the same, and I still got my NextGen/Blatant Beats vinyls even after buying the digitals.

And only way to get Vinylgroover stuff is by vinyl -.-

Rip & Sell? You're not allowed to own any copies if you sell the original.
electrogen Yeah i got most of mine through itunes and tid the rest i copied to pc you can get next gen and blantant beat back cat stuff from itunes also look for old albums on itunes that have your tunes on as itunes albums are full unmixed albums and sometimes you might fing your full version on there
electrogen Also dont do just a search on artist as on some promos or white labels they might be releasod under diff artist

TID or NG own store is better (320kb+WAV). If they where only sold on itunes, i'd keep my vinyl rips :P
Archefluxx All my vinyl is slowly warping in the loft at home. I went up the wall at Dad when I found out because he has about 600 records that have decayed over time, and he's condemned mine and all. However, I did save one. Synthwulf record. Eternal Knot :D My cherished record. And one of my own dubplates that was pressed by a friend for my 20th because he liked my Charlie The Unicorn remix :D
Triquatra i've kept all of mine, would never sell it.
most vinyl is pretty easy to find on discogs these days
AndyFreestyle Ive kept quite a few.. All the best ones i still play in old skool sets (roughly 1000-1500 from 93 to early 2000's)

I have alot listed for sale on discogs very cheap yet they dont seem to be shifting.. I'd sell them in bundles if anyone contacted me about it
Hard2Get They aren't really worth selling anymore. The demand is far too low now due to a massive supply of cheap vinyl. Up to 2005 or whenever people really started moving to digital you could easily get 10 pounds for a vinyl (if it was worth it). If you look on discogs there is like 5 copies of everything selling for a pound.

and some selling at 100+
whispering Have about 40 vinyl. Only bought them when they weren't available in any other format. Been going to record them to my PC for some years now...
Triquatra as I see it the only vinyl worth collecting now is the stuff that was never released digitally, or stuff you want for old times sake.

I have a fairly large collection and I plan on getting rid of pieces that arent played/shit that i've aquired that have been released digitally, and using that money to buy more decent vinyl

not seeing the point in keeping some pieces from 2002-2005 that have been released digitally and are mediocre..they never get played and are taking up valuable space where better pieces that were never/will never be released digitally.
Archefluxx Apparently vinyl sold more units in 2008 than any other year after 2001. Its the best format imo.
lucificifus I've still got all my old vinyl, but yeah, I'm on DVS now :)

I know several people doing this...some will buy bulk vinyl, rip them and then sell them on discogs =P

curious for those ripping, what program are you using?
rafferty Seems a very common place now days for people to rip their 12"s. Maybe I should look a doing the same. Is the sound good though? Would be funny hearing snap crackle and pop on a CD player lol.

at the moment I use Magix Audio Cleaning Lab (since 12.0). Version 16.0 and up works better with faster music when it comes to cleaning out crackles & pops
Audio Warfare Got all mine still. :) Don't think I could bring myself to get rid.
dj_deano Ive got all my happy hardcore, sold everything post 2003.
Dain-Ja I kept it all. I have about 1500 hardcore records dating from 1991 to 2012. I rarely buy it anymore buy I release it!!!
