Wow, that topic certainly went off on a tangent!

I was really disappointed by ClublandXH2, as I go to quite a lot of events (Uproar Slammin etc), already knew all the killer tunes on there (IMO):

Jealous (Overplayed)
Nightmare
Inspiration (Overplayed)
Pull Over (Re-Edit)
How Did I Get Here
Happiness

....few more just being picky

Nessaja (Dispite the Scooter Lyrics Which don't spoil a decent tune 4 me)
Love Garden
Hardcore DJ
Connections '06

Hixxys Disc was such a disappointment with no variation whatsover
(apart from tunes which I already have)
And I cant believe someone said they liked the Elevator Tune By Hixxy & Styles - No thought went into that whatsoever and it shows!!

The whole album has given mainstream Hardcore a really tacky feel (Especially the Start of Just Accept it - as much as I appreciate Storms Talents as an MC that made me cringe badly)
I hope that people dont judge a Genre on this Compilation as it represents a very specific Style of Hardcore!

Also as someone else "Uproar" Commented :

"Hixxy remix of If That's Alright With You is shite, as is 1000 Kisses, as are most of Squad-E's remixes. I liked Squad-E's remixes on Bonkers 15 but these are crap."

Very true, I was lured into a false sense of security when I saw Squad-E Remixes on the 2nd and 3rd CDs after hearing Bonkers 15, it did get my hopes up way too much.

It all had a distict stench of "Styles and Breeze Remixitous"
For me there isnt enough variation in the sound (synthesizer noises e.t.c - I dont know all the technical names but it sound as if they take a sample and then get the same old tune and just fiddle the bassline)

Oh and 1 more thing which I dont think anyone has mentioned

ENOUGH MALE SINGING!

"Save me" did get me stomping when I FIRST heard it but now its just moany and annoying, Darren's gone OTT with the vocals on this CD, also all the little electronic build up noises with the synths are WAY overused (Does sound good on "Happiness" at the second build up), especially in Hixxys ""MIX"" which 2 me - everything is too much like old the new "Hixxy Remix Style" to be appreciated - cant a Mainstream HDJ have a variation to his sound, as everyone seems to have their verision of the hardcore sound to promote and no one producer has enough variation to have a Set played with all their own tunes that wont get boring towards the end (Apart from Scott Brown for arguments sake!)

.....Big Build Up For 1 Shallow Compilation IMO

Roll on HH3 Cause i KNOW this aint gonna disappoint :) :) :) ....

wasnt the best word used i shouldve said complex. Theres good simple tunes and good complicated tunes, i think to be intelligent it has to be different and use a wide range of influences from diff styles.

Basically be individual and use technology to really get the most out of different sounds.

defo if your out raving most weekends plus buy tapepacks i think pretty much all the big tunes you'll have heard a stupid amount of times before there released. Aswell as that we all no how easy it is to get unreleased stuff from the pirate networks, still as you say is lucky people have that many raves to go to.

Doesnt bother me anyway as i dont buy or go to events playing much of the upfront stylee, but times i have i remember hearing the same track around 6 times in one night.

Still as you say is nice to have that problem rather than having to wait the months or years it sometimes takes to get a track released

i was talking about UK hardcore, dutch hardcore is a completly different scene

what you listen to is just dutch hardcore, it's always been hard. but our stuff has got softer. and the public will think that with all these shitty cds you can get in tescos now.

cool i get you now, why you so bothered about uk hardcore though if you dont like it anymore?

Check out the all-4-1 shop from the link aswell, thats mostly from uk and all class music imo.

What about freeform do you have any time for that? it is trancy but has a lot of innovation and if you look a lot of tracks dont stick to a set formula.

You liked raindance and theres plenty more good events like that and if you like the dutch style aswell your sorted for tunes and raves.

if you want hardcore to become cool it just isnt gonna happen, nearly everyone i no just thinks its all music for pillheads, neds or kids and that its ridiculously cheesy. Or they have good memories of it but think its long dead and would have no interest in anything new coming out.

Only people i can get a conversation with about hardcore is the mates i go out with and people on the internet, why i use this site so much.

I dont mean to come across a dick to you all the time but some of the ignorant things you say in posts just piss me off, another side of me just laughs thinking how can someone get so stressed about the direction a type of music has taken.

At end of the day theres a lot more important things to worry about in life, just find stuff you like and be happy with it is my advice cos is what i do.

Everyone has been getting quite excited that it has entered number one in the compilation album charts, but have you checked the dance charts. It was number two last week and has now slipped down to number 7.

not that surprising still a lot more types of dance music more popular than hardcore for sales, pre-orders will have got it higher for the first week

is this a new thing for hardcore comps- their position in the charts? does it really matter! If I buy a CD my only priority are the trax on it! I know its good publicity for Hardcore but can we all leave chart positions after the first week. Once an album gets to NO 1 theres only one way to go and thats down!
