I bought it today and I must say its been a while since I have been involved in the rave scene (cicra 1990-somthing). It has changed a hell of a alot (for the worse), none of ya awesome raw cheesy choonz anymore its more like pop-core. don't get me wrong I still love it and am impressed. to me its like all those songs that got ripped off by hard house / clubby artists now have hijacked it - all into one. the one song which yes it was on the hixxy disc! was mc storms just chav it. not heard that version before and I like it. But overall its given me a taster for next time I go clubbing which will be the first time for about over 7 years..... god I sound like a right geriatric trendy clubber!!!!!!!!!

You are such a retard its unbelievable, first of all, how the hell do you know what the rave scene was like in the early 90's?

Oh didnt you know there was a massive, massive postman pat themed trancecore scene lol

Thanks for sticking up for me guys, I have never read the piece of text that 95_was_the_year quoted before, and if someone else has written something similar then all i can say is that great minds think alike.!!!

And I would like to say that I am not a fake, have actually been raving for 10 years and listening to rave music for longer, check my profile for date of birth and if there is ever a gallery on this site then I will post some wkd pics from raves such as Skelter energy 97, global bathering and loads more.
have just come out of hospital a few days ago and became more involved with the forum through being forced to sit on my arse surfing the net!!! although I visit the site alot but normally browsing the vinyl!

anyway........

hardcore till I dither and wither and die!!!!

you fools just don't get it do you............ you still think that what you are listening to is STILL hardcore - it's not, (they just want you to think that - they being gay-dads like hixxy and breeze)

hardcore has evovled so much during 99-now that it has mutated into ministy of sound pop-core with slutty love songs sung by sluts born on tesco supermarket shelfs with paraxside hair and a love for less'ing up at pub quizes up north < that's what hardcore is about now

i say 'hard'core I mean softcore, this shit now is just so weak and the where has the 'fun' sounds gone? **** all's been done about it cause they think the scene-owners are hixxy (who think he's some sort of hardcore king) I had respect for hixxy during the bonkers 1-2 era.

plus, might as well just call it chavcore seeing as all the breakbeats and juno synthesizers have gone!

hahahahahahahaha **** all's been done about it cause they think the scene-owners are hixxy.

Wtf you on boy do you think people really dont make hardcore in a certain style because they think hixxy will disapprove? muahahahaha what a fanny you are, people like luna c are constantly been making amazing hardcore nothin to do with whats the most popular style at the moment. I hate and i mean hate most the stuff that gets played at big raves now, it is sped up scouse house/trance and it is bollocks imo. Still gotta give credit to the people who make things different, why do you only ever grief the people for being boring and shit?

And another thing it was cd's like bonkers one all the neds were into back then, ever since hardcore went "happy" it's attracted more kids and with that has brought some gangs. Get over it it's not that bad at all

http://www.all-4-1.co.uk/ if you actually bother to take a look around this store you'll find plenty good hardcore bitch, have some respect for people keeping real hardcore going.

http://www.ush.net/ravin/events/index.php?map=2®ion=Scotland not really much clubby style where i'm from mate, think you'll find this clubland style is more of a thing at raves in england.

but then look at the tiny amount of raves happening in scotland, when i lived there up til a couple years ago everyone is stuck in the past rave-wise.

I dont really blame them cos the rez tapes we were brought up with are so good and much harder than the obvious new stuff you find on big name compilations.

If a scene doesnt progress though it slowly dies off, theres a lot of people working really hard to push hardcore back up there and i think it's slowly working.

But still you cant get a big event without a massive old school lineup cos it's what people like, since moving down south im out raving every couple of weeks and is a much bigger scene.

Hixxy was the king of 1996 for sure. I renamed myself after one of his classics he did with Sharkey- Wanting to get High (Smoogie's awake) sure is real Hardcore. Stuff by Next Gen anfd some of Sharkey and Marc Smith's new stuff is good though- but Raverbaby Hardcore is the least Hardcore there is- which is why it gets called softcore by so many people these days.

I think you're a chav mate, reading your post it seems like all you listen to is raverbaby stuff, because if you didn't you'd know how much of a retard you are making yourself look.

It's these image obsessed so-called 'old skool' ravers that piss me off. You're only annoyed because raverbaby is getting more attention than other styles and you don't want people to view 'your music' as that stuff. If you don't like it don't listen, why do you waste your time babbleing on here. If you don't like RB then get off your arse and find some hardcore you do like instead of whinging because everyone has been listening to raverbaby and you dont like it.

Raverbaby only sounds weak when you listen to nothing but hardcore all the time. If theres a party and they're playing funky house etc etc, put a RB set on and you're realise it most definatly is hardcore.

You're full of shit son.

Just concentrating on the bad points (as you see them).

Been to an event lately? I see lots of 'fun' happening.

No breakbeats? WRONG!
No Juno riffs? WRONG!

Hardcore might not be what you want it to be but that doesn't mean there's nothing good out there. If you're so concerned, get off your arse and find it.
