yeah the only reason alcohol is legal is because its been drunk for about a thousand years (If not more, im not sure). It also used to be drunk over water, because the water was dangerous to drink. If you just look at all the anti-social behavour going on, and all the alcohol related injuries and deaths, it proves that the prohibition of other drugs (namely cannabis, ecstasy) is a joke.
thats my 2 pence anyway.

Your calling me a dumbass when you cant even understand basic logic :p You have a statistic that says 250 per million dies because of alcohol a year. Then you have a statistics that 7 per million die because of ecstacy. Now you are suggesting that this million is per million users. But this would be virtually impossible to count. How can you know how many people use alcohol and how many use ecstacy? Also, the fact that most people that die because of alcohol have been drinking longer then ecstacy has been even used as a drug, just waters down your whole "research".
You havent given ANY source, where you have taken this information. So i have no way of knowing the reliability of sayd numbers, but even so, the numbers show that more people die of ecstacy then alcohol. Also the statistic Baldo posted has a website as a source, a website that say they take no responsibility of the information on their site :D
There are NO reliable researches about ecstacys effects on human body, yet you people state its safer then alcohol? You can drink safely longer then ecstasy has even been used as a drug pretty damn safly. Alcohol has been most likely used longer then 9000 years, there are shit loads of researches about it, in every aspect. The whole culture is shaped to teach you how to take it safely. Yet because some druggie sayd ecstacy is safer you believed him? Christ people be more critical on the information you hear/read.
bulby_g, when you compare the drugs, and say that ecstacy is safe when you take it properly, you have to remember that alcohol is actually healthy when you take it properly. I have no doubt of your ability to use it, i understand that you might get frustrated about all the stuff that has been exaggarated in schools, past biased "researches" etc and the people that actually believed them. But going from one extreme to another isnt good either. You have to remember that there are people that do take "facts" like that very seriously. I cant even count the people that have told me that MDMA is safer, eventhough this is based on nothing.

TBH it's pretty widely know that E has a lower death count % than alcohol, they told us in drugs ed at school ffs :P
"There have been over 200 ecstasy related deaths in the UK since 1996." Not a very high figure at all and i'm sure anyone in the UK who knows how much people do it over here would agree. Most of these deaths are caused by dehidration (Not an OD or direct effect of taking the drug) This is because people don't bother to read into what there doing and dance all night without drinking (or worse yet only drink alcohol that will dehidrate you even more!).
Stop trying to justify what you do over what we do, it's no better ;) Like I said though I'm not saying XTC is risk free!
Ps. I say what you do but yes I do drink myself.

OMG LOOK AT THAT!!!!
I WAS WRONG ABOUT ONE THING!!!
http://www.thegooddrugsguide.com/ecstasy/faq.htm
quote: How many people die from using ecstasy? Isn't it very risky? The UK figures suggest seven ecstasy-related deaths per million users. This compares to 625 alcohol-related deaths per million drinkers. In fact, more people in the UK die from choking on peanuts than from taking ecstasy.
hehe :D

So that i would know if this is just their opinion or from an official statistic done in the UK maby? I mean just text on an non official website is as reliable as peoples posts on these forums. As i sayd be more critical on what you read.

Well look at this site as well then http://www.talktofrank.com/ it's not run by "druggies" and it was set up to help uninformed people make informed decisions on drug use.

Yea thats the site that links to another one which says that they take no responsibility of the correctness of the info on their site. What i mean is official statistics, isnt there an agency in UK that keeps those? Here there are two places, Statistics Finland and then theres Stakes, dont you have something like that in UK?
Sk8SiM in english that means they take information out of context but give no source to the original data so one could read the full thing. Thus unable to judge how the facts should be taken. Manipulating statistics is so damn easy it hurts. Just few days ago there was a research published on a "newspaper"* saying British people change their underwear very rearly, after few days, some just turn them upside down and keep wearing them, i guess this must be true too? *Source: http://www.iltalehti.fi/2006/03/24/200603244292993_uu.shtml

Must be I guess... Had a quick look & I can't find anything. I think the reason they say "they take no responsibility of the correctness of the info on their site" is because of ever changing "official statistics" which can say one thing one minute and then something totally different the next.
