First song I heard was shooting star, which I liked, but not enough to look into the genre more.. so I forgot about it for about a year.

Later, I heard children of the night at a friend's birthday party.. later on I went back to his house (he was having a few friends stay over), and he was showing us what he could do on his (newly bought) decks, he was pretty bad at the time so he just played a few tunes instead.
That's when I first heard field of dreams, children of the night and forever young, but I still didn't like them enough to look into the genre anymore.

I was getting more and more interested with each song he played because at the end of each one I said "what genre is this?" and he said "hardcore".
Several other friends were also into hardcore after that but they've moved on to liking bands like razorhead, the killers and coldplay more than hardcore now, but I've never really moved on from it.

A few weeks later I was at his house again and he played toytown. That has been my favourite song since then (my fave song changes weekly but that's always among the top, I don't get bored of it like everything else, so I'd say it's my all time favourite).

So: toytown, although it wasn't the first song I heard.

Who dug this topic lol?

The first hardcorre had to be got a feeling by Demo. Heard it in a record shop in Bournemouth (which has now closed) after asking about 90s dance music as I was getting bored with all the club stuff. Anyway they told me about happy hardcore and I liked it and got a CD, Hardcore Heaven 1996 which was live from the Sanctury, Milton Keynes and it sounded ok. I started looking on the internet for cds and ca,me across the Happy 2 B Hardcore seris and later went onto Bonkers.

When I was younger I liked Sunshine after the rain by Berri which has a Hardcore remix by Paul Elstak. So if I was ten years older I would have loved hardcore ten years ago.

Oh I think I have replied to this post before lol

Probably "On Top" - Sense of Summer Or "Steamtrain" - Dougal & Hopscotch
Perhaps even "Breakin Free" - Slipmatt . Thats a tricky Question.
I borrowed a tape of DJ Druid from a mate. It had no tracklisting but those were the main tunes i remember being on a tape. This was around '95-'96.

STAKKER HUMANOID - It blew my mind in 88 when I first heard it! From then on I've been into any dance music thats harder and faster than the mainstream of that year!
