I've recently bought a couple of tape packs and it seems to be alot of the dj's are playing trancy stuff.
don't get me wrong hh needs direction but alot of dj's are making and playing the same thing.

does anyone agree? or am I wrong?

Sometimes, but in some songs it works really well. As long as they put a good kicking bass-line on it aswel it all stays pretty good.

yes, it is. the only tune i'm currently attracted buying to that is hardcore is Adam J - Ultraviolence. Breaks, hard beats, crazy shit. All 30 whatever Raverbaby releases sound the same to me - give me silk cuts and i'll be a man!

Agreed, I am finding I'm getting more turned off by hardcore now that I have EVER been. Still gives me time to explore and enjoy other music genres.

There are MANY more artists out there that don't write trancy hardcore, you just have to look. It's not that hard to find them..

Evolution = Bouncy/HARD
Kniteforce = Breakbeat
Rave n Beats = Happy
Nu Energy = Freeform

I don't know why so many people say that hardcore is becoming trancy when hardcore now has so many different subgenres than it used to have.

people say it's becoming trancey because I think they come back to hardcore to the names they remember from the past to find them spinning trancey stuff.

and you forgot raw elements mmmmm elements *drool*

Every "big" label has boring tunes, but i dont expect myself to like every tune that is hardcore... What i do is that coz i listen music about 5-15 hours a day, i have always at school 8-12 cd's on MD. If i get bored i just change the style, if Hardcore is getting boring, i listen some JPop, eurodance etc for a change. I try to avoid overplaying tunes. I like the Raverbaby stuff, but i couldnt listen it all day, nor any other hardcore subgenre/other genre...

have to disagree with you comet, as evolution is basically trance based. noone can say anything about freeform, because thats the style that it originally was :P

Sometimes the trancier stuff can become more like background music, the beats are softer, the music's more laid back and smothered with echo.

i like it when music gives me rushes of adrenaline, has breakdowns you didnt always expect, has multiple melodies in each track, and is in your face :) that's what attracted me to hardcore from the beginning.
